1978 Suzuki RM50c Vintage MX

You're bidding on a 1978 Suzuki RM50 C model vintage motocross bike. Completely rebuilt using NOS parts that took three years to complete. All work work was done with the mindset to get it back to the way you would have found it on the showroom floor. Nothing was left untouched on this bike. all parts were cleaned. inspected. then resorted as close as possible to factory finish. Engine and tranny were rebuilt using ALL new seals and bearings. Crank was still with limits and was left alone. Previous owner claimed to have replaced it a few years back and after that the bike saw very little use and my machinist agreed. good crank let it be. Replaced piston/rings and cylinder bored to the next size up from stock (. 5). had a small amount of corrosion on the walls so better safe than sorry. Kick shaft assembly was replaced. new clutch with springs. and clutch engine cover replaced. Then engine was stripped and repainted using PJ1 engine and case paint. Carburetor rebuilt with new seals. needle jet assy. and spring. Front forks tore down inspected and serviced. just a small amount a pitting behind number plate but travel area clean and has nice chrome. Rear springs stripped down and repainted with epoxy paint and the chrome polished. Tank was coated inside and has yet to have gas in it. bike was ran using a IV tank. Outside was stripped to metal and repainted using Martin Semour base and cleared (including decals) using Sherwin Williams Urethane. Everything else was stripped and repainted using Epoxy paints and primers and has had over two years to cure so it's ready to handle the dirt and grime. All hardware that was not replaced was re plated two years ago and some have tarnished a bit since that time. Not talking full out rust but you can see they have some age to them. Wheels have new tires/tubes and spokes have been replaced. The rear rim is real nice but the front does have a few spots of corrosion that when I polished them came out and you could hardly see it but now that it's been two years you can just start to see it coming back out. Also the new spoke nipples on the front surfaced rusted on a few flats. once again nothing bad just pointing out all flaws that I know about. Plastics. front fender and side plates have been restored and will last. no 5 minute shine in a bottle here. Rear fender (took 2 years to find ) and front number plate are NOS. The follow NOS parts where used to complete the build. pipe and muffler. all cables. front and rear brake pads. gas cap. throttle tube. grips. air box assy with boot. clamps and filter. clutch/brake levers. perches. and covers. rear sprocket. front sprocket. chain. chain guard. and seat including pan. Now the seat does not have the RM50 stamped on it like you would have found on the showroom and was told it was do to the fact that the seat fit other years and models but really not for sure but the part number was correct and with the exception of the rear fender was the find of the build and such a nice seat I just left it. I can proved you stencils and what type of vinyl paint to use if you would like. The only parts not NOS on this bike is the kill switch and a hand full of hardware items. they are just not available anymore.   Now for the legal stuff. If you would like me to ship this bike you must contact me before you bid. I have no problem building a crate if you pay for and being avalible for pickup but thats it.   Payment must be made in full within 3 days by pay-pal.   If you wish you wish to pay when you pick it up I'm willing to work with you but cash only and a deposit $500 must be made within 48 hrs. Im not going to hold the bike either. you must pick it up within a week.
