Vintage 1975 Suzuki RE-5 Motorcycle, Low Miles-4,363 No Reserve One Owner

 This listing is for a nice low mileage example of the rare and collectable Suzuki RE-5. My dad bought it new and has been the only owner. He is in his 70's with health issues and can no longer ride so the bike has got to go. I will be as thorough on the description as possible. I have the clear title and the bike was last inspected and licensed in 1980. It had been stored in his shop until a few years ago when we brought it to North Carolina from Pennsylvania which is where it was last licensed. It has been stored in my garage since and within the last few months we have rebuilt both front brake calipers including new pistons. the master cylinder. the carburetor. fuel petcock. new air filter. nbsp;and fixed a gas leak at the fuel sending unit. All parts came from Rotary Recycle before they went out of business and these parts were not cheap. The only thing missing that I know of is the battery. We used a garden tractor battery to start it and it runs great. The only non-OEM part I know is on the bike is some of the fuel line we also replaced. We put a new OEM oil filter on it and changed all fluids including oil. antifreeze. and brake fluid. It has a Shoei fairing on it. The original turn signals are also included in case you do not want to use the fairing. The luggage rack is a Suzuki rack and the passenger handle that had to be removed to mount it is included along with a couple reflectors. The storage box is also included. but is not Suzuki. it is aftermarket. The owner's manual is included and is in excellent condition. An extra bonus is a Suzuki compression tester that was new when my dad got it and was only used once or twice on his bike at the shop when getting a tune up. The biggest issue I see on the bike is the rear fender got somewhat bent from too much weight in the storage box. It is not that noticeable until you really look for it. There is a small crease on one side of the fender that probably can't be fixed. Hopefully. you can see these issues in the pictures. The only other fairly big thing I know of is that the bike fell over once while my dad was driving very slow in gravel. It left some marks on the left side of the engine case. but is really not that bad. again I try to be very detailed in pointing out things as I don't want anyone to be disappointed. which I don't think you will be. There is some minor rust here and there on screws and minor pitting on chrome. all the normal stuff to be expected from a bike this old. I gave the bike a pretty good cleaning. but I am sure it will look even better after a good detailing. The paint is in excellent condition. I believe it is called Firemist Blue. There are one or two very small scratches on the tank. but no dents.  Buyer is responsible for shipping. but I will assist as much as I can. Also. I will hold bike until payment clears.
