2001 Suzuki GSX-R 1000R Sport Motorcycle.

The original Suzuki GSX-R1000 sportbike was released for the 2001 model year. It was designed to replace the aging GSX-R1100 motorcycle. Positioned alongside the GSX-R600 and GSX-R750 sportbikes. the Gixxer 1000 represents the pinnacle of Suzuki?ˆ™s sport motorcycle design.  At the time of its release the GSXR 1000. became the lightest. most high-performance sportbike on the road. Aesthetically Suzuki?ˆ™s GSX-R 1000 was nearly identical to its smaller displacement GSX-R siblings. Inside of the GSX-R1000?ˆ™s sleek body panels however it packs a tremendously powerful yet easy-to-use 999cc liquid-cooled Inline-Four cylinder engine. Other changes included subtle chassis tweaks including a thicker frame. braced swingarm and higher-spec suspension components.  

Since. Suzuki?ˆ™s Superbike has received four key revamaps. the most recent being the 2009 model. Physically the size of the Gixxer Thou has been substantially reduced due to the use of a more compact engine. The engine also features new bore/stoke dimensions and a matching cylinder head that houses larger intake and exhaust valves. Also new is the use of an innovative Big-Piston Fork design from technical partner. Showa which not only reduces weight but increases performance. Other changes include a longer swingarm. which will better control the Suzuki?ˆ™s massive 160-plus horsepower. It also retains the GSX-R1000?ˆ™s now signature twin titanium mufflers first introduced in 2007.

Bike is in near perfect condition. It has been sitting in the owners front living room since 2000.  

Loss of employment forces sale. He still has the original MSO. It was only fired up at the dealership when serviced for delivery. After delivery. fuel was drained . tank coated and has been in the living room ever since.  

Bike will come with a brand new Yuasa factory specified battery and acid pack.  

The bike cost him over $11. 00. 00 and he has never ridden it.

Accessories include Speedscreen tinted windshield and Lockart tank cover.  

The only flaws are that his dog scratched the front fender and urinated on the front wheel thus lifting the paint. Easy fixes. Also. the shift lever adjuster rubber boot was chewed off. Also an easy fix. Pet was disciplined and the chaos stopped. The reserve and buy it now prices more than compensate for the flaws.  

I have taken pictures of the bike assembled and disassembled to show the leery that this is not a story but fact.  

This is a true once in a lifetime Suzuki collector enthusiasts dream. When if ever will you see a first year run of a hugely successful bike ever be up for auction again? Reserve is set low and no. it will not be revealed. I am sure the bids will blow by it quickly. Local viewings welcome with appointment. No trades or any other panic or stall tactics. This bike will sell to the first person that can back up their stuff.
