TRIUMPH TR6 1969 BLACK lots of work done TT pipes matching numbers TR-6 650cc

Up for auction is our Triumph TR6 motorcycle registered in 1969 (H reg). It is a UK bike with matching numbers.

We are a motorcycle shop based in Cambridge (Cambridge Motorcycles. 01223 360176). We service and repair most makes of motorcycles but we also and very enthusiastic about British built machines!

We bought this Triumph TR6 almost 2 years ago to the day of posting this add. It was tatty when we bought it and so we have spent many hours on it to make it into a nice reliable classic bike for our personal enjoyment!

Work carried out includes unleaded cylinder head conversion. new valves. new pistons (6. 5:1 low compression for reliability). rebuilt bottom end and clutch and new carburettor.

The electrics have been modified with a more modern charging system which doesn't change the look of the bike but improves the reliability. we did the conversion in house and have modified a few British bikes in the same way with excellent results!

As far as cosmetics go as this was our bike so we made it look the way we wanted it to with a simple non original finish.  Even though it is a British market bike with matching numbers we opted for a USA style tank and high bars (both of these items are brand new pattern parts!). We finished it in semi gloss black and fitted a rare set of TT pipes (which we modified with removable baffles to curb the noise). The wheels are also all black too! We think all this has made it look cool and fun to ride and when we have taken it to bike shows it has received as many looks as a shiny original example!

If the look is not your cup of tea it wouldn't take much to put the bike back to standard. a UK tank will be needed as the original was rotten through and binned along with the bars. If you want to restore the bike to show standard you will need to get the wheels rechromed. frame powder coated etc but its all mainly cosmetic stuff.

Bike is currently MOT'd until Oct 2015 but we will probably put a fresh one on it before sale.
