TRIUMPH 650 PRE UNIT EX RACE BIKE, BONNEVILLE CAFE RACER TRITON. DEPOSIT TAKEN

I bought this bike last year from the father and son who originally built and raced it in the 1990s with the intention of using it as a basis for a project but 6 months down the line its remained untouched and time to move on to concentrate on my other bikes. The following are the details given to me last year. Built 1992/3 for VMCC production Clubman class. rebuilt in 1997 and then did 5 races and one track day. Last run in 1999 and was stored in the house warm and dry since. FRAME. No 79102. No documents and no registration number. Checked and trued on Motoliner jig. stiffening plate added under swinging arm pivot. Taper roller steering head bearings. Rearset footrests and controls. copy of original race kit items. FORKS.  Late '50s with late '60s shuttle valve internals. Manx external springs. fork brace/mudguard bracket. alloy guard. clamp up type spindle. ENGINE. Alternator type 650 No T110 027519. One piece big bearing crank -10 BE. 9 stud Bonneville head with recessed 9th stud and de-finned rocker boxes to look like earlier 8 stud. 9. 5-1 CR +60 Hepolite pistons. E4220 and 71-0042 cams with allen key type tappets. Lucas Competition manual magneto. Runs on Castrol R and gave 48bhp at rear wheel. Bores are currently full of oil to protect. Tacho drive timing cover with crank oil seal conversion. Twin Monoblocs rubber mounted with choke slides removed. GEARBOX. 127158 std 4 speed with speedo drive blanked off. original kickstart mechanism all present and working. PRIMARY DRIVE. Duplex set up off T140 with 6 plain/5 friction plates. Inner primary has T140 oil seal and adjustment is by twin adjusters above swingarm pivot to prevent gearbox "creep". WHEELS. Both Akront alloy rims 19". 8" scalloped front brake with Ferodo green linings. Std bolt up rear brake/sprocket. Avon racing RR 90/90 on front and GP 3. 50 on rear. TANKS. Oil tank is standard. has been drained. Tool box is fibreglass dummy cover only. Petrol tank is standard shell but cut out underneath and a 3 litre inner tank welded inside. EXHAUST. Originals cut and shut to sit tight to the engine. not pretty but very effective. Silencers are mostly empty.  I have not had it running but it turns over fine with great compression and mag has a healthy spark. Bores with need cleaning out as will carbs but no real reason why it shouldnt run otherwise.
