I have owned the bike since Nov 2012 during which time I’ve used it for touring. I bought it from Youles Triumph dealer Manchester. it was their demo bike. Now I’m getting back into off-roading (after a 37 year break. how stupid is that!) and although I’ll probably regret it I’m putting it up for sale. It’s been a great bike. never missed a beat. has fantastic handling. a bullet proof engine. excellent fuel economy and (for this type of bike) an impressive tank range of 150+miles.
The only problems I’ve had with this bike have been……Err NOTHING! That’s the honest truth & the first time I’ve been able to say that about any vehicle I’ve sold! Mind you I did sell my Triumph Sprint ST1050 last year & I was only able to list a faulty brake light switch as its only fault. Good old British engineering!
I modified a couple of things (because that’s what blokes do!). I’ve added a relay protected auxiliary fuse panel to power the heated grips. Inforad camera detector & Satnav supply. I fabricated an alloy support to stop the display clocks & flyscreen flexing & put a Ram mount (for Satnav) above the clocks. I also fabricated raised mounts for the screen to accommodate a Satnav (not included). This had the added benefit of increasing comfort at high speeds.
I’ll not lie (a lot of sellers do!) and tell you it’s never been ridden in the wet but I’m obsessive about cleaning & maintaining my bikes and I’ve found that if you regularly apply Scottoiler F365 to all metal parts you’ll never see any corrosion. I also won’t tell you it’s ‘mint’ but I will say it’s in excellent condition. Yes. there are a few very small stone chips but no deep scratches or dents and I’m happy for any potential purchaser to thoroughly inspect the bike. I’m also happy to accommodate a professional inspection at your expense.
Full service history with additional oil/filter changes every 3K miles. Battery always kept on trickle charge. New Metzler Z8 rear just fitted. Metzler Z8 front fitted at 10178 miles. EBC HH Sintered front and rear pads were fitted at 12127 miles. Drive chain & sprockets are original items & still in excellent condition. Last full service (incl valve check) was at 10859 miles.
It is alarmed. has two working fobs & two keys. The V5 is in my name. it has two keys & the Triumph folder containing all books. service and owners manuals. V5 and MOT certificate. Originals of all upgraded parts will be supplied including rear footrest hangers. I will not export this bike but can deliver it within a 20 mile radius of Manchester Airport providing I’m in possession of the asking price prior to delivery. Otherwise buyer collects.
Viewings can be arranged but test rides can only be undertaken if I’m holding the full asking price in cash and suitable insurance cover is held. The bike can be started (from cold if required) and I can ride it with you following if desired. I’m advertising this bike elsewhere so reserve the right to withdraw the sale at any time.
?200 deposit to be paid by Paypal if you commit to purchase. Balance to be paid by bank transfer or by cash on collection from Hale. Altrincham. Cheshire.
