This much sought after tax exempt 1973 Triumph T140V 750 Bonneville British classic with matching numbers has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the air is thin and the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours. This and the fact it's only showing 18227 miles and has been in dry storage for the last umpteen years have helped maintain its boyish good looks. PLEASE CHECKOUT THE PICTURES. As you can see this bike is very nearly complete missing just the mirrors. indicators. airboxes. side panels & chain guard. The bike has obviously stood a while so the carburetors are stuck. front wheel rim is slightly pitted. BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS. The bike is every bit as solid as it looks here. The wheels are straight with good hubs. brake plate. disc. caliper & working master cylinder. Forks & yokes look straight. Mudguards are both solid. Headlight & hangers are good as is the tail light. Instruments & switches look good. Fuel tank is usably clean inside. Exhausts are ok. Seat base is in very good condition throughout. The engine is cosmetically clean. it turns over nicely off the kick starter – sounds/feels great & has compressionbut we haven't run it up. The bike is currently unregistered. The registration process is reasonably uncomplicated.

We HAVE NOT got the American Title (Registration Document) but we will provide the NOVA certificate from Customs & Excise to prove we have paid VAT & duty. this will be provided with an official V55/5 form for 1st registration application.

REGISTRATION

1. You need to get the bike MOT’d.

2. You need to prove the year of manufacture. Phone North Leicester Motorcycles on 01530 263381 with the frame & engine Numbers. for a small fee they will send you a letter confirming the age.

3. You need to have valid insurance on the bike. You can insure it on the chassis number.

4. Post this to the DVLA who will charge you ?55 for the 1st registration & the current amount for the road tax.

5. The DVLA will post you your age related registration number.
