The 1968 Bonneville is one of the most desired Triumphs to have with its polished stainless steel fenders and fantastic colorsThis bike was purchased from the original owner with only 7446 original miles and had never seen a wrench. Mod- Rockers Triumph restorations regularly receive 97-100 point ratings and trophies. The bike was purchase and restored with the hopes of being Mod–Rocker’s owner personal bike due to the one owner history. low miles and that it was never monkeyed with. But college tuition forces its sale A properly restored Triumph motorcycle. as in this case. has been completely disassembled down to every last nut & bolt. and every part has been either painted. plated. polished. repaired or replaced. New British parts used wherever possible. current Made-in-UK parts in many cases. and good Made-in-Europe or Asia parts only when required. This bike has been re-assembled as it came from the factory and features the following:Engine disassembled. cases degreased & blasted. sludge trap cleaned. new bushings. bearings. pistons. rings. cylinder head rebuilt with new valves guides and valves. Barnett clutch plates and cables throughout. All new highest quality gaskets and seals All other internal parts degreased. cleaned & replaced as necessary. Many chrome parts re-plated. The original Dunlop rims are in excellent condition all hardware plated if needed. all aluminum parts hand polished. New exhaust pipes. mufflers and handlebars. Don Hutchinson base coat clear coat paint is the correct Hi Fi Scarlet over a gold base. Silver Sheen Center stripe and gold pin strips. Tank badges were also repainted according to the originals. I do not put decals on restored bikes because in my opinion they detract from high quality polished finish. But I will supply the transfers with location specs should the buyer request them. - Original Smiths gauges are in excellent condition Speedometer reflects pre-restoration original mileage of 7446. - A correct seat cover has been fitted. along with the hard-to-find chrome trim. and the correct Triumph logo. Electric components have been replaced or restored. including a proper cloth-wrapped wiring harness. original Lucas horn & tail lamp assembly. Lucas tail-lamp switch. horn/dip switch. headlamp switches & bulbs. All rubber are either in excellent original condition or have been replaced with factory-correct reproductions. including new Dunlop K70 tires. rare "houndstooth" oil lines. footpegs with proper Triumph logo. and Grand Turismo grips. The bike was reassembled according to factory specs. with nuts & bolts properly oriented. wiring/hoses routed properly. using John Bull-type rubber & flexible alloy ties throughout. There are relatively few 1968 Triumph Bonnevilles still in existence. Even fewer are restored to this exacting level of detail.
