1998 Triumph Thunderbird Sport Caf? Racer Thank you. for checking out our 1998 Triumph Thunderbird Sport Caf? Racer. We rescued her from the back of a local garage where she sat for many years … with less than 8000 original miles. we knew she had a lot of life left in her. especially since she has the bullet-proof 3 cylinder 885cc motor! She turned out to be a great platform bike for a Caf? Racer transformation. She has already taken a trophy for “Best Caf? Racer of Show” (check out our website for more info. and pics on this bike including several before/during/after photos along with a couple videos so you can hear her running and going down the road). We have received several offers to buy the bike out right; however. we thought it best to put her on ebay to help show folks what we are up to at Bare Bone Rides. Here is a list of some of the things we have done as part of her transformation: - new custom fabricated steel seat pan- new set of Bridgestone T-30 sport touring radials - new 2 year AGM X2Power Battery - new reverse cone matte black shorty mufflers (they produce an aggressive tone - you can hear their awesome sound on the videos) - new front fork seals & oil - new Kajima fork boots - new matte black clubman handlebars - new K&N air filter (for stock air-box) - new K&N oil filter - new low profile aluminum mirrors - new OEM throttle cable - new OEM grommets for headlight mount - new OEM rubber swingarm/chain protector (rubbing strip) - new OEM clutch cover gasket - new clutch and brake levers - new RK Gold X-Ring 530 Chain- new brushed aluminum mini turn signals- new cat-eye tail light with custom steel mount & license plate bracket - replaced fuel petcock with one that uses a vacuum shut-off - replaced oil pressure sending unit - replaced lower coolant pipe - replaced rear shock with a Kawasaki ZX7 shock - custom fabricated steel seat pan - professionally upholstered seat pad with marine grade vinyl & new seat foam - painted engine with two-part matte black urethane heat (650?F) paint - tins painted with PPG Forrest Green Metallic (with Wimbledon White and Gold pin-stripe on tank). PPG DC2000 Deltron clear coat (she really pops in the sunlight) - new aftermarket Triumph tank pads - carbs were fully disassembled and cleaned. new float bowl gaskets. new float needles with newly machines needle seats installed. balanced/synchronized on the bike - all wheel bearings were checked/greased. steering stem bearings cleaned/re-packed with grease. swingarm bushings/needle bearings cleaned/greased. rear shock linkage cleaned/greased - many smaller matte black parts were powder coated (clutch/brake levers. rear shock linkage. etc. - new coolant and oil - will include a Moto-Centric battery tender/charger with pigtails already installed (see photo) - comes with original owner’s manuals & original tool pouch too (see photos)! - original seat lock has been maintained. so the new tail section can be removed simply by unlocking it (similar to the removal of the original seat)- too much to list everything but. the above items capture most of the work we've done on her - clean Florida Title More photos & videos are available on our website (noted below). http://www. barebonerides. com/bbr-bikes. html … just scroll down to this bike under “Caf?
