SamDnaJ9. dpufCompared with the standard Bonneville. the Bonneville America has a very different ride. with the wheelbase extended 6. 4 inches (160 mm) to 65. 2 inches (1. 60 mm). making it 6. 8 inches (170 mm) longer overall. The saddle was lowered 2. 2 inches (56 mm) and the steering head rake angle increased by 4. 3 degrees giving a 33. 3 degree rake. The America had the Bonneville's 12. 2-inch (310 mm) front disc but the front wheel was reduced to 18 inches (460 mm) diameter and the rear wheel to 15 inches (380 mm) with a larger 11. 2-inch (280 mm) disc brake. The America also had a larger fuel tank with a 'chromed' plastic console to house the filler. 4. 5-inch (110 mm) diameter speedometer and warning lights. Also verifying trueness of rim/wheel assembly and brake rotor . Checked the axle and reassembled . And I always loosen the pinch bolts on the triple clamps . oving the fork tube assembly left and right verifying all is centered and true . After all is assembled . I test ride on a line going straight . I come to a stop ON THE LINE and visually verify the straightness and alignment again . Then I was satisfied . Thanks . THE REASON ALLSTATE INSURANCE DID NOT REPAIR THE LIGHT DAMAGE WAS BECAUSE OF THE STEERING STOP GOT BENT WHEN THE HANDLEBARS TURNED TO THE STOP WHEN DROPPED. IT APPEARS THE STEERING STOP CAN BE HEATED AND REPOSITIONED THEN TOUCH UP PAINT REAPPLIED . THEN THE FORK STOP WILL AGAIN LIMIT THE TURNING BEFORE IT CONTACTS THE GAS TANK . IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS . CAN LOOK AT BIKE AND VERBALLY DESCRIBE IT WHILE YOU LOOK AT PHOTOS . I HAVE NOT PRICED ANY PARTS . THAT WIL BE UP TO POTENTIAL BUYER .
