1971 TRIUMPH TR6C VERY ORIGINAL SURVIVOR 3 OWNER, LOW MILES, FULLY DOCUMENTED NR

This a very original unrestored survivor that has been well cared for in its 44 years and it shows. It has not been modified. messed with. improved. rewired. customized or received any ham-fisted repairs. The chrome is bright and shows no rust or pitting. It has the original folding rider's foot pegs. stone guard (that's 'skid plate' to us Yanks). Lucas headlight. taillight and all of the turn signal bases and lenses are original Lucas. There are 7250 documented miles on this bike. most of which were put on by the first owner. The paint on the frame is very good. The paint on the tank was beyond preserving. The previous owner (the pilot) tried to touch up some scratches on the tank with a 'rattle can'. proving. by his very existence. that he was a better pilot than painter. The tank was taken to bare metal and professionally repainted using Don Hutchinson paints and a hand painted pinstripe was applied. There were/are no dents or filler on the tank. I know that the paint is not original (no patina) but it is stunningly beautiful. I repainted the air cleaner covers and refreshed the stands and brake. The mechanicals were always maintained and the motorcycle was ridden regularly at Bike Fests and etc. I closed my shop earlier this year and am selling some of my collection. I brought this bike home and have gone through just about every system on it checking the tightness of fasteners and hose clamps. I have given it a complete servicing including adjustments; valves. points. timing. both chains and have renewed the fluids. I flushed and refreshed the fuel system (with ethanol free gas) and rebuilt the carburetor using Premier Amal Parts. It started on the first kick which has always been a trademark of this bike. The bike runs as it always has. idling smoothly (as smooth as any Triumph idles with a sexy little front wheel shake) and carburets cleanly from off-idle to WFO. It handles beautifully on roads or in close quarters. It makes a good display bike. it doesn't leak oil so there are no embarrassing drip trays. but it comes alive when turned loose. History: I was told by Mr. Williams. the person that I bought the motorcycle from and a retired airline pilot. that it was purchased and picked up at the Triumph plant by a friend of his. a TWA flight engineer named Mr. Nordlund. He had it shipped home (USA) via TWA. He rode it for a few years. parked it in his garage riding it only sparingly. Mr. Williams told me (in his wonderfully British accent) that he had 'joined a British Motorcycle Club and thought I ought to have a British motorcycle' so he approached his friend and purchased it in 1987. He kept it serviced and rode it sparingly accumulating less than 1000 miles in his 13 years of ownership. I bought the bike from Mr. Williams on Jan. 22. 2000. After riding around St. Augustine. FL (where I purchased the bike). I put it in my collection. riding it only occasionally to local Bike Nights and Daytona Beach events. All shipping arrangements must be made by the purchaser.
