1964 Triumph Bonneville "TT Specification"
Original Paint Original Tires Original Seat Built to "TT" Specification 1 Kick Bike Fresh Service
Of all the bikes I've owned this 64 Bonneville is right at the top in three categories. It is one of the most original best running and most special-feelingbikes I've encountered.I live fororiginal paint bikes and a friend of mine has a large collection of exclusivelyall original paint motorcycles. He had this bike along with several other rare Triumphs. I purchased the bike from him. It has alot of rare TT bits on it and it runs like a top usually starting on one kick even after sitting for a week or so. This thing has basically been perfectly preserved.According to my friend from what he was told this bikewas built to full TT specifications by a Triumph mechanic in 1972-73.I took the bike to Hugh at 6th Street Specials and he verified that a lot of the components on it are extremely hard to find. These include:ET charging system (no battery)TT pipesTT carbs and airboxTT aluminum throttle housingC modelfendersTT kill switchThe inside of the tank has not been lined and is super super clean looks brand new. The bike has its original fuel lines and original Dunlop K70 Gold Seal "Made in Great Britain" tires. It still retains the little original sticker on the top of the airbox.
When I bought it the bike had not run for 4 years. We cleaned the points and some connections put in some race gas and it fired up on 3 kicks. We then brought it to Hugh for some further tuning. It is one of the best running bikes I have including completely fresh restorations. It starts on one kick and idles immediately with no throttle input.
Hughdid the following items:
Remove carbs and clean reassemble and tuneGo through and clean up ignition wiringReplace point and condenser plateReplace spark plugs with new unitsThis is one of the most stunning condition original paint bikes I've ever seen and I'm extremely reluctant to part with it. I tested the paint with my paint meter and it is definitely original. The TT pipes are straight through- it's loud andsounds incredible (especially on the overrun.) This must be considered one of the most original Bonnevilles out there and the TT bits make it even more special.
