Description

2005, riumph Tiger - Checked out, nd exceptionally clean.

My “Tiger” is extraordinarily clean; maybe even pristine. The ’05 ‘Tiger’ is one of the most popular Tigers ever built. It’s a “Lucifer-Orange”, 55-“triple” that is very ‘torquey’ and serious fast. My bike has been very well maintained by a professional motorcycle mechanic. It’s low-mileage for its year, t only 36,681.

I am the second owner and got it from Brian Slark, he ACTUAL Director of the Barber Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham, L. (http://www.barbermuseum.org/) -- Brian is a member of the ‘Motorcycle Hall of Fame’, nd it was HIS personal bike. I even got it signed by him. It’s a true “collector’s item.” – I now have the same problem he had… - Even though I’m a stout 70, t’s still too much for me. My loss is your gain.

The guy I got it from serviced it himself (none better, ight?) and always with fresh oil and filters, very 3,000 miles - always with Mobil-1 synthetic. When I got it, did the same. – It has a new set of spark plugs, ew K & N oil/air filter, adiator recently flushed, nd replaced with new Triumph coolant. Brakes were flushed and new Dot-4 added. - All nuts/bolts/and fasteners were checked and either tightened up or (where necessary) torqued to factory specs. There are no leaks of ANY kind, NY-where. Going with the bike is all my service manuals and documents...

AND… as a plus, ’m throwing in a REAL Triumph Top-Case for free. Just so you know, eal top-cases are pretty hard to find. The only thing is… this case is missing is the mounting hardware; which is frequently on eBay. A quick note on the top-case, had it painted and the paint doesn’t quite match the bike. On the plus side, it should be easy to match the right color, f you decide to have it re-painted. It took me almost a year to find the case. (**PLEASE NOTE** the ugly black case in the pictures doesn't come with the bike;it was damaged, nd I threw it away.)

I also put brand new brake-rotors on the front (with new pads, f course). – Here again, he factory rotors were not easy to find.

The tires are practically brand new; I’d say there’s about 99% life still in them.

I had the bike returned to ‘Factory Specs’ with new:

-brake pads, ront/rear
-bearings, ront/rear
-spark plugs, NGK-iridium)
-K & N air filter
-K & N oil filter
-Mobil-1 Synthetic oil

I added the following “after-market” parts:
-after-market ‘D.I.D’ ‘orange’ chain
-after-market, eavy-duty rear sprocket
-after-market heavy-duty front sprocket
-after-market (extra-loud) horn
-after-market, range, lutch and brake levers
-after-market MRA smoked windscreen with lip

Here’s how “Motorcycle News” magazine (a motorcycle reference magazine) put it…
“…The Tiger is one of the ultimate do-it-all motorcycles that can tour two-up, ommute effortlessly, r breeze through a set of corners. At its core is a fuel-injected, 55cc, hree-cylinder engine - revised for 2005 with a new cylinder head, rankcase and visually beautiful exterior; and punches out a solid 105 Horsepower. Further refinement is a slicker shifting gearbox. The Tiger's motor is the very definition of real-world drivability.

An upright, omfortable riding position gives a commanding view of the road ahead and scenery flashing by. The Tiger's cast, 4-spoke, luminum wheels take tubeless tires - 110/80 V19 front and 150/70 V17 rear. The Tiger's rugged enduro styling exudes toughness and the far horizon is the Tiger's destination. It thrives on an all-day riding challenge and lives for the journey, wo-up and fully loaded. Whether it’s a sinuous, wisting switchback, r daily commute to work the Tiger's equally at home.

With practical touches like the large 6.3 gallon fuel tank, ockable hard cases, and guards, eated grips and center stand fitted as standard - plus the efficient, rame mounted fairing to keep the windblast and weather at bay; the Tiger's usability factor multiplies.

It's been said that the journey is just as important as the destination. The Tiger's one of those bikes that helps prove the theory. There are very few genuine all-round motorcycles in the world - the Tiger is one of them…” – Chris Myers
