1958 Triumph TR6 Desert Sled,,Steve Mcqueen, Bud Ekins

Selling my 1958 TR6 Triumph desert sled...this is the type of bike raced by Steve Mcqueen (aka Harvey Mushman) and Bud Ekins as well as other celebrities back in the day. I have no idea if any of them owned this bike...but could be ?

This bike was converted to a race bike a long time ago so no paperwork comes with the bike. Sold on a Bill of Sale ONLY !

I changed the fluids and the spark plug wires and it started right up. It was dry stored for many years so the tank is pretty clean inside. It looks like someone started taking it apart at some time and there are some missing bolts and fasteners so I did not ride it.

It has some very cool old racing pipes with built in brackets, ne of which has been repaired. Also has a Bonneville top end which is pretty common on race bikes. The generator hole on the engine has a block off plate so spark only on this one. The tank may be a later smaller capacity tank which is also common. The front tire has a slow leak so it won't hold air.
