Factory records have this bike dispatched to Johnson Motors in the USA on February 24th 1959 with Gearbox number 107036. NO TITLE, eing sold with a Bill of Sale, ileage is unknown. Excellent opportunity to restore a very rare motorcycle, he 1st year Triumph Bonneville, truly iconic machine. A great candidate for a full restoration. Has been in storage for decades. The engine turns over with good compression. The Piston Crowns as viewed though the plug holes appear to be new, askets on the top end would say this engine was overhauled but never started, his is a guess as I have not opened the engine to inspect the internals. The Cylinder Head was swapped out for a TR6 Head more suitable for desert racing. The original head comes with the Bike and is in very good condition as does the original Front Fender, lso is excellent condition, oth are pictured below. The Lucas Magneto (Dated 10/57) still throws a spark, ucas Generator is in place. Gearbox goes through the gears, o Slickshift. Frame is unmodified aside from the Steering Lock boss on the right side of the Steering Head has been removed and filled, n easy repair with a replacement lug. Set up as a typical dessert sled of the era with TR6 Pipes and Muffler. Timing Cover bears the Tiger 110 Patent Plate, ommon on early and mid season T120's. Chrome plated Oil Tank is the correct unit for 1959 with the tall breather tower. The unfinished Sled project came with no Seat or rear Fender, oes have folding foot pegs. Stock handlebars and Throttle Twistgrip and Bonneville Cables remain. Gas Tank is bare steel and will need work, he mounting autos have been fixed in place. All Badge and Grid holes are open and good. Front forks are stock although frozen. Has the correct Sliders and Triple Clamps albeit chrome plated. 19" Dunlop Rims front and rear. the rear Drum and Hub have also been chrome plated. Most parts to restore this bike are available and with restored examples selling for 20-30K makes this a project well worth undertaking. Please take the time to study the 26 pictures below as these show the bike very clearly. Please email with any questions that you have. Located in Los Angeles.
