Description

1971 Triumph Trident, 50cc.With matching numbers.

ONE OWNER since new, ntil last year when I bought the bike. I have not ridden it, o I have not put any miles on it.
ONLY 3633 miles.
Original bike, riginal paint, reat patina. They are only original once. Bike has been well-cared for since new.

The original owner was a Vietnam Vet who rode all the original miles in Alaska, hen he got sick and died and his family kept it as a display for over 30 years in their living room in his honor.

It is truly RARE to find one of these that has not been ruined by 44 years of neglect and do-it-yorself wrenching! Remember, hen people say "this bike has had aTOTAL RESTORATION"...the absolutely crucial question is WHO restored it? A bored retiree that worked in a machine shop and fiddled with his Chevys on weekends, n unskilled enthusiast, kid tinkerer, r a mechanic that truly knows his way around classic vintage Triumphs? This bike is untouched mechanically, .e., he engine has not been taken apart -- ever!

Here is the recent work done by Street Cycle in Falmouth Maine by 'Old Fred' who's worked on Triumphs since the early '70s: Carbs completely cleaned, eplaced carb bowls, loats, eedles, ll main jet holders, ets, ntake boots. Replaced fuel line and filters. Replaced petcocks. Changed engine oil and filter. Replaced air filter. Clutch and choke cables replaced. Replaced battery. Replaces point cover gasket, ump gasket, lutch cover gasket. Replaced side stand spring. Adjusted valve clearance.
It is time to pass this baby on to the next classic Triumph lover for the tender loving care it has been accustomed to having it's entire existence.
Has not been run since last year at the shop. In order to be in top running shape should have head gasket replaced and top-end re-torqued. Also, ransmission oil seals are probably dried out and should be replaced. Both jobs are easy if you know how.
This is a sweet bike. Would be wonderful to keep as an original, r a great base for a vintage British racing bike.
I bought the bike last year at this time for $5700 on eBay. Put $1600+ into it. Paid $625 for shipping. Have all the receipts. So, am in to it for close to $8000. Would like to get out without too much pain.
I would keep it but just bought a Ducati and have 3 other bikes ('70 Trophy, 74 Commando, nd '76 Honda Trials).
Love this bike, ut have too many bikes and not enough garage space.
If you want to ship the bike, ou'll have to handle all the arrangements. I will be glad to store it for 30 days after payment if that helps. Please feel free to ask me any questions you have about the bike.
