Numbers matching '67 Bonnie. This bike has undergone a complete restoration. As many original parts were used as possible with fasteners re-cadmium plated, nd various alloy parts polished to remove oxidation and make them sparkle! AMAL Concentric carbs, hich were fitted at the works as of DU5932, are installed. Fuel tank painted in the '67 colors of Aubergine and Alaskan White, nd oil tank and left side cover painted in black, y Craig McGlothlen of Precision Motorcycle Painting. The inside of the tank was coated and is perfect inside.When purchased, he previous owner had installed new first over pistons and rings which had few miles on them based on how they looked when the engine was disassembled. These were retained, nd new big end shells were installed as a precaution. Crank journal measurements were within spec for standard size. The sludge trap was removed and thoroughly cleaned at this time as well and a new screw plug then threaded in place in the crank, nd impact tightened. A rebuilt 1967 head was installed with new valves, prings, ollars, ollets, nd seats reground. This replaced the head that came with the bike due to the various stripped threads with that head. A new clutch chain-wheel, nd primary chain, lutch plates, ndKibblewhite clutch springs were also installed.The frame, wing arm,various fender brackets, nstruments bracket, ork sliders, eadlamp mounts, nd rear hubwere powder coated black and the front hub silver, y Job Cycle. A repop seat was installed to replace the original due to disintegrating foam and rusted seat pan. Exhaust pipes were rechromed, nd replacement Emgo mufflers and rear shocksinstalled. Boyer-Bransden electronic ignition is installed and helps to make this a one kick starter whether the engine is cold, arm, r hot. The original Dunlop wheels were relaced using stainless spokes /nipples. A Dunlop Goldseal K70 tire was installed on the rear and an Avon Speedmaster ribbed tire on the front. A repop year correct wiring harness was installed. A single point ground philosophy was followed using the rectifier as the SPG. Separate ground wires were run in an attempt to improve on the way it was done back in the day at the Meriden works.The bike was carefully broken in, nd the bike taken to Job Cycle for careful tuning of the carbs. I like to think I can do that myself, ut have to admit there are others that do it better. This bike starts easily, dles well, nd pulls without hesitation, r knocking/pinging. It runs very sweetly. I wanted a runner, nd this bike is that. It is reliable and there is no drama to getting it started, nd keeping it running at stop lights or in traffic. Speedo and Tach both work properly. The gearbox shifts like a Triumph should, asily and surely and goes into neutral easily and positively. And the shifter is on the right (i.e. correct :-) ) side of the bike.For full disclosure, ere is what is not perfect with the bike. High beam does not work, nd the sealed beam is not correct; it's a bit loose. Have not gotten around to replacing it. The rear fender has a small dent at the very tip of the fender below the license plate. the chrome strip on the seat has a small dent where I let the seat flip up, ithout the safety lanyard in place, nd the chrome strip came to rest on the corner of the upper shock absorber mounting bolt. There are also several small dents in the front hub beauty cover. It adds to the patina! Re mileage, he Speedo is new and only reflects mileage since the restoration was completed. The title is in bank safety deposit box and I'm unsure what it says for mileage. I can update this posting once I get to the bank. I am selling this for the simple reason that I don't have time to ride it, nd am downsizingto a smallerhouse and won't have room for it. It's a sweetheart of a bike and I hope to see it go to someone who will ride it and enjoy it.
