Description

I'm selling my 1972 Triumph TR6. I've had it for a year and the previous owner had it for 20 years. He kept it in immaculate condition, leaning it for hours after every ride. He said he only put a few thousand miles on in that time and that the motor was rebuilt by the owner before him. I did a lot of custom cosmetic work on the bike, nd some maintenance. I mounted the rear fender and taillight, ade a seat pan, nd had my friend Jay at Pirate Upholstery (OCC/ PJD fame) wrap it in Tuck and roll Italian leather. I put low bars, hite grips, ew front brake cable, mall velocity stack on the carb, intage cocktail shaker mufflers, nd a Bates headlight/ mount. I have a front fender not pictured that goes with it. I lowered the forks an inch and put gaiters on, nd I re-wired the bike wire by wire with vintage style cloth wire. The paint on the bike is very nice but is over 20 years old so it does have some minor flaws. The bike has the original Smiths tach and speedo, nd the tires are Dunlop K70's that are barely used. I replaced the points a few weeks ago.
I haven't ridden the bike much as it still needs some work. It smokes a tiny bit on start up and rides fine for about 20 minutes then gets a bit sluggish and smokes more out of the left pipe. My mechanic friend said it's likely an oil pump issue or possibly the rings or valves. I haven't adjusted the pushrods but I suppose that would be a good place to start. It has also recently started leaking from the primary cover gasket. I have a modest reserve on the bike and have recently watched a bike that was almost identical on here go for about twice as much. If it doesn't meet the reserve I'll keep the bike and put more work into it, just have other projects I'd rather get to, nd bills to pay. For a little work and money you could have a really beautiful custom vintage Triumph at a killer deal.
I'll need a $500 PayPal deposit within 48 hours of the auction's end, nd the rest in cash upon pickup. I have a truck and can deliver within 100 miles for .$75 a loaded mile. I've shipped bikes before and can assist your shipper if you set it up. Feel free to ask questions or set up a time to view the bike if you are local. Thanks for watching!

Oh I forgot to mention one of the best things about the bike- '72 was the first year of the 5 speeds!
