Triumph Thunderbird 750cc tracker Engine no. 6T 76948 Always a step ahead of their rivals. Triumph followed up the trend-setting Speed Twin 500 of pre-war days by being first in the field with a 650cc parallel twin. Announced in September 1949. the 650 Thunderbird was Triumph?ˆ™s response to demands for more power emanating from American racers and British sidecarists alike. A spectacular launch stunt saw three Thunderbirds lap the banked Montlh?©ry circuit in France at over 90mph for 500 miles. after which they each achieved a flying lap of 100mph-plus and were ridden back to the Meriden factory. a quite outstanding achievement. And here?ˆ™s a t/bird at the next level. On offer here is a Street Tracker set up Thunderbird with a freshly built race spec 750cc kitted engine. rebuilt from the crank up with high compression pistons. high lift cams. etc. This is mated to a rebuilt gearbox with fresh clutch. primary. magneto. etc. New monobloc Amals with extended end caps and high capacity float bowls. The bike has been ridden less than 20 miles on the build. Up front are forks from a Rickman. rebuilt. At the back are good shocks. The oil tank is mounted in the gas tank. Having been gone through by a marque expert. the bike is offered in good riding condition. The engine sounds great. gearbox shifts well. brakes and suspension work as they should. and Eagle DTS tires are good. The title is for street use. All it needs are lights. The bike goes like a stabbed rat. And is a blast.
