1993 TRIUMPH TRIDENT GREEN

Re-ListedThis is a great example of a great bike from Triumph's resurgence from oblivion. These water cooled triples are great to ride and generally accepted as pretty bullet proof (keep the battery charged if you leave it for a while though. weak batteries risk the sprag clutch!). This bike was bought as a fixer-upper. and I have done that. more with an eye to mechanical soundness than looking like she did when she emerged from the crate. She's had new front brake seals and service. oil (Motul) and filter. carb strip and clean and balance. new stainless engine fasteners (as well as lots of other replacements). new battery. new NGK spark plugs as well as replaced forks. radiator and a lot of tidying up here and there. Sailed through the MOT at the end of that. All a trip down memory lane from when I was a mechanic at a triumph dealership working on these every day. A bargain and a bike to last!Sadly this bike took out its spag clutch just prior to inspection by a potential buyer - but that disaster could be your gain. I have just split the engine and replaced it with good one. The job has been done to the standards of the award winning dealership I used to spanner for. with a few inside bodges discovered and put right along the way (please. people. don't re-use damaged gaskets!) The replacement clutch was broken from a good motor. with no sign of any worrying. undue wear. Now all fixed. as per proper spec with new gaskets etc. valve clearances checked and adjusted. It goes really well. The bad bits: It will need a chain sooner rather than later (O rings are being damaged after it had stood for a long time) and the neutral switch is a a bit hit and miss.
