Description
Matching numbers bike and is owned by the same owner for 36+ years. Bike is originally sold in NV and has been in dry weather all its life. 5-Speed transmission Clear NV title in my possession; easy to ship anywhere. One of the best years of the T140 bikes to own since quality went to the dump starting 1974. It has sensible mods like Yamaha double disc front and upgraded electrics. New two tone paint and pinstripe done locally; the bike is never ridden after the repaint. I have brand new Triumph spares in stock and can cut you a good deal on everything you buy. I can also recommend sensible upgrades. Cons: Engine needs a complete rebuild. Good thing the bike was running fine until stored. The bearing issue was found before any catastrophic event. Front brake is sticky and will need a full flush are refill. Electrics is all there but might need going through. It might be better to upgrade the harness and ignition for reliability. The 2 into 1 exhaust is pretty beat up; however, t is a period race item! I can include a brand new stock style twin exhaust for $200 more. If you have any other questions please don’t hesitate to ask. Please bid to win. A non-refundable deposit of $250 is due via PayPal within 24 hours of winning the auction. The balance is payable within 5 days by wire transfer unless prior arrangements are made. The vehicle will not leave my possession before full payment is received. Shipping is the sole responsibility of the new owner. I will assist in any way I can. I can also drop it off for gas money at Los Angeles sea port.
Offered for your consideration is a 1973 Triumph Bonneville T140V. The purists know this is one of the best years of the Oil-In-Frame 750cc bikes since the issues with the first year bikes are all sorted and it also came with the factory 5 speed transmission. Production moved the following year and the quality of the classic Triumph twin plummeted to pathetic levels ever since. This bike has been in the last owner’s possession since 1979 and I have a clear title with me.
The double disc front end is from a Yamaha XS650 and it is indeed a far superior front end compared to the original Meridan hardware. The front wheel a light alloy wheel as well. The frame is not modified in any way and so is rest of the bike. According to the last owner, e discovered a piece of bearing race when he was doing a routine oil change and stopped riding it sometime in 2000. He removed the top end, ut never got around rebuilding the engine. Pros:Also published at eBay.com
