I purchased the bike several years ago. There was no VIN# on the custom frame so I went through the state police and obtained a new VIN# so I could register it. Registered as a 2009 custom build. I drove it 90 miles round trip into Boston, Aand displayed it at the Larz Anderson Auto Museum on European Motorcycle Day.

The bike ran flawless andwon 2 Trophies, irst Place Custom and Best of Show!

per Jeremy:

The TT Deluxe was based around a 2006 Triumph Bonneville engine, nd nearly every piece was hand made from scratch. It was intended to give me a platform to really stretch my abilities in every aspect of bike building, rom fab to machine, ngineering and design, ll the way to paint, leather, and wiring…..without having to work around the usual constraints associated with a motorcycle.

It is a useable motorcycle, lthough not a great daily rider…but then again its not the usual fancy paint a shiny engine bobber either!

As always every piece was done by myself(with the occasional help of my wife) and has been the art side of what I do for several years now. The TT was an exercise in craftsmanship and has well served its purpose… to show people what it is I'm trying …….to blend ethics and tradition of the past with modern ideas, quipment and materials.

There doesn’t seem to be a street address anywhere on the LC Fabrications website. We’re just told that the company “was born in the corner of a machine shop in the hills of Virginia, here the history and traditions of the past still thrive.” The man behind LC is Jeremy Cupp, nd he’s an old-school craftsman—when he’s not building award-winning ‘antique’ customs, e’s making parts for Sportsters and modern Triumphs. TT Deluxe is a typical LC project: it started life as a smoke-damaged ’06 Bonneville, nd ended up as vintage caf? racer. Cupp designed and built the frame and removable cradle, long with the rear brake drum, nd the tank is graced by copper leaf versions of the 1910-1914 Triumph logo. The result is authentic and original at the same time—a world apart from the mail-order catalog school of bike building.

Among the participants in the Free Style Class of the 2009 AMD World Championship Of Bike Building, like very much this bike and I know why.

A somewhat unusual design, Triumph engine (Bonneville 865 cc) and transmission, Girder front end, mini conical drum front brake, ackshaft mounted drum in the rear, nverted hand control levers, simple and well detailed 2 in 1 exhaust, opper lines and…no chrome.

Jeremy Cupp got a 6th place trophy and he should be very proud of it.

What would a caf? racer look like if it had been built in 1910 instead of 1960? It’s a question that has been asked before but to my knowledge, his is the first time someone has actually taken to the workshop and produced such a mythical beast.

LC Fabrications is a machine/vintage motorcycle shop in the rolling, reen foothills of Virginia. Owned and operated by Jeremy Cupp the focus is on timeless craftsmanship and seriously handsome motorcycles. This particular bike, he TT Deluxe, as loosely modelled on bikes of the 1910s (Triumphs in particular) but features a 2006 Triumph Bonneville engine and transmission. The chassis was hand-fabricated as was the tank, he bike uses handmade Druid forks and a seat made by Jeremy and his wife Lindsay.

If you take some time to carefully go over these photos you’ll notice a staggering number of subtle touches, his sort of build quality is reminiscent of builders like Falcon and Walt Siegel (and there aren’t many builders who deserve a credit like that).

Notable features of the build are that springer seat set up, eautifully integrated leather kneepads on either side of the fuel tank, he wonderful steampunk headlight and copper tubing used around the engine and the two-tone paint job on the inside of the wheel rims.

All images below aren’t huge but they’re the highest resolution we could get our hands on, lick for a larger view.

What the guys of LC Fabrication have to say about their Triumph TT Deluxe Cafe Racer

I suppose this bike started about a year ago when I saw one of the scramblers on eBay. There was just something that drew me to that bike like a cop to a doughnut. I called a buddy of mine who has a salvage business (I do his paint) and told him to be on the look out for a new Triumph, didn’t care what just something affordable. About two weeks later he called and said he found an ’06 Bonneville black on an auction that had smoke damage. We wound up winning it for $300.00!

As winter drew near and “new project” time got closer I decided to use this for a donor bike – something a little different from the norm, hile being modern and reliable, nd yet still cool. So I had a power plant, nd no idea what to build around it. I did some research on 1900?s to 1930?s European bikes of all types and tried to make a mental note of what was cool. I suppose that the main things that stuck out were the tank style (loosely after a 1910 Triumph), he druid style front end, he knobbies, enter stand, nd friction steering dampener.

For the frame, went with a lugged design for some extra detail, nd made the cradle removable to help stick with that European style. I did the jackshafted drive to clean up the right side of the wheel, nd really to just try something different. Once I got that figured out is when I decided to try a drum rear brake mounted to the jackshaft. I tried several old drums of different makes but nothing was quite right so I had to hunker down and make one. I wound up using aluminum, hich I heat-shrunk a sleeve into. The real pain in the arse on this was making it all fit together without too much runout.

Early one Saturday morning I mounted a sort of traditional rear fender and bicycle seat. It was pretty cool but it just didn’t do it. Later that night I sat down with a print-out of the bike up on the table and started drawing. I loosely sketched the caf? boat tail thing, nd SHIZAAM – it was awesome. I went to the shop the next morning and got started bending up some rod! I suppose this is where the whole project shifted gears from classy antique custom to 1900-ish caf? racer sort of thing. Race bike in mind, he 2-into-1 lakester pipes and drop bars fit naturally. Another thing I really wanted was inverted levers. Not wanting to copy what Dave Cook is famous for, called him up and wound up getting away with the very first set of stainless levers he has ever made.

For paint I wanted to stay sort of scalloped style (Triumph thing). The logos on the tank are copper leaf versions of the 1910-1914 triumph logo. The “3? has nothing to do with NASCAR, his is my third complete bike build, nd yes, he other two are numbered as well. My wife, indsay, nd I spent evenings at the kitchen table doing the leather work. The wiring on this bike was probably the biggest challenge. A modern engine with all the emissions and safety crap has a wiring diagram that looks like a bowl of spaghetti noodles. At first I went through a lot of trouble to find someone who’d tackled the task before…..no luck. It seems everyone who’s ever done one of these simply stuffs the entire factory harness and all of its “mystery boxes” into a fake oil tank, hich was not the route I wanted to take. I sat down with a factory diagram, he original harness, nd a volt-ohm meter, round 30 or so hours later I had myself what is apparently the first ever chopper-style wiring schematic for a modern Triumph in existence. A lot of headaches, ut I now have some pretty clean wiring that only uses what I need – no horn, o dimmer, o emissions, o safety crap, ust good old spark, harging, nd lights. — Jeremy Cupp, C Fabrications

TT Deluxe was the AMD 2009 World Championship 6th place Freestyle winner, he Smoke Out 9 winner, nd Easyriders National VQ Award winner.

LC Fabrications makes their 'Vintage' mark

If you ever happen to Virginia in the east coast of U.S, ake sure you ask about directions to a certain LC Fabrications. Virginia may have given birth to 8 U.S presidents, he thing is it also gave birth to a certain Jeremy Cupp. Jeremy Cupp who? Well, hat is a question which will soon become obsolete. Because Jemey has a passion, passion for classics and he turns his passion into works of art through brilliant craftsmanship. And to make it a habit, eremy opened shop in the hills of Virginia, C Fabrications, shop which customizes classic bike inspired by the time of those times gone by when metal was king and plastics were still align in motorcycling world. Jeremy tries (and succeeds) in reincarnating the history and traditions of the past. Brilliant work as evident from the pictures and that is not saying much. It just seems there is something extra in the customization which will demand you to keep looking at it for some more time than you erstwhile will spend in customized bikes. There are lots of shops into customization who does excellent jobs and are worth praising and so is Jeremy’s work, ut something else tells you that he is probably a step ahead. And that is what probably Jeremy knows when he says “To us it is the sense of a job well done, ot fame and fortune, hat is the true reward.”
Jeremy’s shop LC Fabrications specializes in custom parts for mainly Sportsters and Triumphs, ut as he says “We have the ability to put nearly anything into metal. So whether you need parts, ustom fab or machine work, r you would just like to talk shop, end us an e-mail. We would be glad to hear from you”. Judging from his work, ou can vouch for every word he just mentioned.

So let’s start with his bikes. As per the website, here have been 5 completed projects. The best looking bike among the 5 is most definitely the TT DELUXE. This is just so retro, ery very elegant, t looks like a real piece of art which is just for visual sake, ut the thing is that the TT DELUXE is very much ride able. Inspired by a scrambler that Jeremy saw on eBay, e went out e-hunting for a Triumph, referably a modern out, n fact as new as possible. His friend helped him into a 2006 Bonne and was damn lucky to get it at only $300 although there were some engine problems, ut $300! Now, ome guys do have all the luck. At one point he mentions that “I decided to use this for a donor bike – something a little different from the norm, hile being modern and reliable, nd yet still cool.” Really couldn’t get that part, mean he sure didn’t mean that modern bikes are not cool, ut what he probably meant was that a modern bike with retro cool likes. He finally decided to go vintage with the modern engine and after some look up at early 1900 bikes, e wanted to start the design from the tank and this model is loosely based on a 1910 Triumph and then he started designing the druid style front end, he knobbies, enter stand, nd friction steering dampener. Once the frame was complete, e looked in detailing the bike.
He had visioned a race bike from the early 1900 and for that you see the 2-into-1 lakester pipes and drop bars. He got the inverted levers from Dave Cook. The paint and overall look is definitely Triumph inspired and those logos on the tank are copper leaf versions of the 1910s Triumph logo. All the leather work is home span. He mentions that the biggest challenge in the bike was the wiring amd must say he did an excellent job there as no wires are visible. More so the problem because he didn’t want to use the ‘fake oil tank’ to hid the wires as is normally the norm in this kind of styling. Finally he settled for the minimal basics with no horn or dimmer just the spark, harging, nd lights. The TT Deluxe was placed 6th in the AMD 2009 World Championship Freestyle winner and Easyriders National VQ Award winner. To go the vintage way while retaining every bit of modernism is not easy, mean it has to look a certain way to look vintage, ut that would mean sacrificing the modern mechanics. Jeremy tried and succeeded in balancing both the generations and what finally came out was truly spell binding.

TT Deluxe This bike may be one of my all-time favorite builds. It combines a vintage vibe, aying homage to the early Triumphs (1910's) yet has a modern (2006 Bonneville Black) Triumph power plant. Jeremy Cupp of LC Fabrications worked out the perfect combination, lending the old with the new for an amazing custom caf? racer. The level of detail is stunning, ith virtually all the work including paint and leather being performed by Cupp himself. The tank is the standout element of the bike to me. The 1910-1914 Triumph logo is perfect as is the shape and use of the scalloped paint scheme. I'm loving everything about this bike.
