1969 Triumph TR6R Tiger 650

Many experts consider the 1969 Triumph 650?ˆ™s to be the best bikes Triumph made. and this recent restoration is a drop-dead gorgeous. trophy-winning example. This bike was restored to a very high standard and won first place trophies for Best British Classic (show class) and Best Triumph (best in show) at the 2014 Brit Jam. one of the largest vintage motorcycle shows on the East Coast. Every part of this motorcycle has been gone through. Here are some details:

?·      Stunning paint work by Don Hutchinson Cycle in correct Trophy Red/Silver Sheen with hand laid pinstripes.

?·      Frame and cycle parts powdercoated in gloss black.

?·      Motor carefully rebuilt from the sludge tube up. using the best parts available.

?·      Bored . 020 over. NOS Hepolites and rings .

?·      Head rebuilt with Kibblewhite Black Diamond valves.

?·      Rebuilt clutch.

?·      New Amal 930 carburetor.

?·      Correct and original cad plated hardware throughout.

?·      Gages restored by Nisonger.

?·      Exceedingly rare NOS seat with correct grab rail found only on 1969 models.

?·      NOS Lucas headlight shell and ammeter (extremely rare).

?·      Other rare NOS parts include Granturismo grips. Lucas heat sink/zener diode. Lucas rectifier. Lucas horn/high beam switch (with correct grey cable sleeve).

?·      Headlight glass. tail light lens. reflectors. and brake light switch are all genuine Lucas.

?·      New brakes.

?·      New sprockets and Renold chain.

?·      Front end completely rebuilt.

?·      New Hagon rear shocks (not exactly the same as the original Girlings. but made in the UK and much higher quality than the Chinese made EMGO?ˆ™s you see on most restorations).

?·      Pazon electronic ignition with new Lucas coils and correct Champion Bakelite spark plug caps.

Imperfections: This bike has excellent original British silencers. very rare in clean condition like these. but they are not perfect. The repro mufflers just aren?ˆ™t the same. Some of the NOS items have very minor cosmetic imperfections. At 40+ years old. this is to be expected. The chrome on the rear rim has some very minor flaws. None of these should discourage a potential buyer.

The side stand and center stand have been used directly on pavement since these pictures were taken.

This motorcycle has been started only a handful of times and run less than 50 test miles. which were done with the primary goal of properly seating the rings. I ran Brad Penn break in oil. I used the old exhaust headers for these test runs. so the beautiful pipes that are now on it have zero miles and have not blued or yellowed. The motor sounds smooth and quiet. the transmission shifts through all gears. and there is NO smoke. The last time I started the bike before parking. it started first kick. If the new owner chooses to ride this bike. not just show it. he should expect some routine tuning that comes with ANY fresh rebuild. including carb. clutch. and valve adjustments. and a head re-torque at 100 miles and again at 500 miles.

I have a clean Massachussets title in the previous owner?ˆ™s name and signed by him. undated. I also have the original bill of sale signed by him and all other info left blank. The state of Connecticut (where I live) does not issue titles for vintage vehicles. I have not registered this bike. but if the new owner would prefer for me to register and transfer with a bill of sale. I will gladly do so. Just realize that the title will be from MA and the transferable registration from CT. I?ˆ™ll do whatever I can to provide the necessary documentation for you. but you must check with your state?ˆ™s requirements before bidding.

PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS. I also welcome inspections in person. I have invested thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours into this motorcycle. and I want the new owner to love it. I reserve the right to end auction early for any reason. including but not limited to local sale.

All shipping costs and arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer. Do not bid if you can?ˆ™t pay for the bike or the shipping. This motorcycle is being sold as-is/where-is with no warranty expressed or implied.
