This is the last year for the right side shift and the first year for the 750cc eingine dieplacement twin motor. I selected it for those 2 reasons and did a complete restoration and customization process which took it down to the last nut and bolt.
All engine work was done by Super T Engineering in State Center. Iowa. and as I recall it was a general overhaul. with the cases being bead blasted. covers polished. hardware cadium plated. etc. I'm a bit foggy on what all he did but aside from cleaning the sludge traps and polishing the crank journal. he probably went to +. 010" on the cylinders. No high performance mod's were done. just overahaul. cleanup and detail work. for longevity. not performance.
The frame was modified at Fred's Speed and Sport in Hastings. NE. with the brace put in between the 2 front down tubes. the welds that connect the swingarm fittings to the oil tank (frame) were re-enforced. the swingarm was trellis-braced. and the rear up-tubes braced. Also the rear passenger peg framework was removed. along with other unneeded tabs and bracketry. Not much frame flex going on here.
The usual mods. top the electrical system. including Boyer Brandson igintion. tympanium rectifier. etc. Stainless steel fenders. TR-6 pre-unit ehaust system. modified conical rear drum. lightened front wheel and brake with a Brembo caliper. shaved rotor. etc. We got over 4 lbs. of unsprung weight off that front axle. Bike was fitted with shaved sprockets and O-ring racing chain. nbsp; S&W Hammerhead shocks. Progressive fork springs. good modern performance tires. etc. The list could go on. and on. and on.
The original speedometer shows just under 11. 00 miles. and only about 2. 00 of that is post restoration.
Bike runs out and rides fine. handling like a dream on rails. It's ready for the open road (or tight twisty curves) now.
