1978 TRIUMPH Tiger 750  

This Triumph Tiger 750 epitomizes the early 1970?��s British motorcycle that became a permanent part of British motorcycle history and still represents the classic style?�� 

The condition of this machine is fully restored.    It is the 750 cc engine.  It is fully restored as close to original condition as possible and a great rider.   The work was done by Aaron's Auto and Cycle in Coal City Illinois.  

When I purchased the bike. it was taken apart to have some minor repairs done. the engine cleaned. etc.  I purchased it 2 years ago and had the bike professionally restored and all parts are original triumph parts from the 70's except the few noted in this description.  Many are original to the motorcycle itself.  The chain and a few other minor components were replaced with original parts as well. Besides a complete cosmetic detailing. we went through the entire machine and checked all of the major engine. transmission. and braking components for wear and safety.  All gaskets and such were replaced as needed.  The gas tank was cleaned and repainted and the carburetors inspected. cleaned. and re-installed along with a new air filter. and all fluids were changed.  

The wheels are also original to the machine and are in good overall condition.  The tires are in good shape with no signs of dry rotting.

The engine and transmission are in excellent interior condition due to the low mileage and absence of any type of harsh conditions or abuse throughout its life. The engine was taken apart and machine-cleaned to its original luster.

The aluminum and chrome parts are in very good condition overall.  You can see from the photo that there is a small dent on one of the chrome pipes.  The mufflers. I'm told. are not original. but are short noise makers.

The tank was repainted professionally to the original design.     

The Triumph on the road is very easy to handle. and rides down the road very tight. with no shakes. shimmies. or rattles.   It shifts and accelerates smoothly and holds the road as it should.  

There is a very small oil leak that may be a simple fix.  I tightened several bolts near the engine and this may fix it.  I am told a re-torqueing is needed.  This was only noticed after the initial ride from Aaron's to my house after the work was completed.  It pooled to the size of a nickel on my tile floor.  Again. I am not a mechanic nor a bike expert and am unsure.  Aaron's Auto said that minor oil leaks are very common with a bike that is 36 years old and I am deferring to their expertise.  It is a very rare machine. as all of the hard to find original parts are accounted for.  The only parts I am not sure of are the mirrors.  I have the patches for a jacket. the book for the bike (and another manual and other paperwork). and even the original tool kit that is stored under the seat!  The title is free and clear and in hand.
