Up for adoption here is a very RARE and very ORIGINAL 1982 Triumph T140ES Bonneville ELECTRIC START 750cc twin. in EXCELLENT RUNNING condition!  This bike starts right up with the push of a button. electric starter works great (unlike the 1975 version used on Norton Commandos and Trident T160s). the bike runs super strong and has been bulletproof reliable for the 5+ years that I have owned it. Everything works perfectly. with the exception of the horn (button is missing from the Lucas switch cluster). NO mechanical issues whatsoever (other than minor oil leak from exhaust rocker). original paint. pretty much original EVERYTHING including all the parts that make this very late production Triumph unique - chrome steel Radaelli rims. Bing CV carbs. BMW turn signals. Marzocchi shocks. special tank & sidecovers unique to the ES model. etc etc. Has a few cosmetic flaws - a shallow dent on the left side of the tank and a paint chip on the top right (as shown in the photos below). faded paint on right side cover. damaged fin on inlet rocker box. a couple very small spots of pitting on the rims - but is overall in great condition.  Original owner installed an aftermarket cartridge oil filter set-up. probably the single best thing you can do for a unit 750 Triumph - as far as I can tell this is the ONLY thing on the bike that is not factory "original"!

Just over 5. 00 miles currently showing on the Veglia speedo (and counting - I ride this bike almost every day). which is the original mileage. purchased from the original owner about 5 years ago. pretty much exactly as you see it here.  All I did was clean it up and start riding it!  It is pretty much spotlessly clean now. as you can see in the pics. and I treated it to some fresh 20/50 Castrol GTX and a new filter as of last week. when it turned over 5K miles - so all the new owner will need to do is grab a helmet and RIDE!  Chrome is very good overall. just a very few small spots of pitting on the rims as mentioned. some rust on the underside of the left muffler. otherwise EXCELLENT.  Likewise the original paint is GORGEOUS!  Seat cover is flawless.  Beyond the very nice cosmetics. as previously stated this bike is in EXCELLENT mechanical condition as well - engines pulls smooth and hard from 1500RPM all the way up the rev range with NO hint of smoke or unusual noise. NO clutch slip or drag. 5-speed transmission is SWEET. brakes are surprisingly good for a vintage Brit. handling in the twisties is a joy!  Tires are not new but are still in great shape with plenty of good tread. ribbed Avon Speedmaster on the front. Dunlop K627 on the rear.   As a bonus. other than the weeping from the exhaust rocker shaft (just needs a new o-ring) the engine is amazingly oil-tight (for a Triumph or any other Brit bike for that matter!). and even after a hard ride does not mark it's territory with oil stains on my garage floor!

Took her out this morning for a 35-mile ride in the hills south of San Jose. and 10 hours later I still have a big smile on my face - that should tell you all you need to know about this super nice Triumph!!!  Matching frame & engine numbers (of course!). clean California title and current registration (just renewed for another year through October 2015) in my name - If you are looking for a classic British bike that you can just jump on. push the button and GO. this is it!   SOLD HERE WITH LOW RESERVE!!!
