I am selling my much loved Triumph 900 Sprint Executive after 13. 00 of happy ownership. For those that don't know. the Executive was one of two run out models of the original T300 series Triumphs. with the remodelled side panels. rear light and grab rail. but with the Daytona swing arm and rear wheel. and the Trophy foot plate hangers. exhausts and side panniers.
They only made them in red or blue and didn't come with the matching top box (although I've managed to get hold of a matching genuine Triumph one).
I've only owned it a year. but have used it everyday for commuting as well as weekends away and Sunday blasts into Wales.
Since I've needed it as get to work transport. it's always been well maintained. and as you can see below I've spent nearly £1. 00 on it since I've owned it. Obviously with a bike of this age and mileage. things start to wear out. hence the replacement of most of the bearings. battery. fuel tap repair kit. exhaust headers. oil pressure switch a top box clasp. cam chain and tensioner spring and the forks. However. I don't think that's bad for 13. 00 miles and the rest has been consumables!

In fact I think neutral weight on the bars is about 100mph. Having said that it's very comfortable riding around town at 30mph all day too. It returns about 44 to the gallon and will always do a comfortable 200 miles between fill ups.
I've changed the gearing when I fitted new chain and sprockets. so now 100mph is about 6. 00 rpm instead of 7. 00 which was slightly buzzy. and it's much more relaxed all round now.
I have the original service book and tool kit. and a raft of paperwork including receipts for everything I've spent. plus MOTs going back to 2007 as listed below:-
MOT DateMileage22/08/20145206915/08/20133941930/07/20123858011/08/20113791405/10/20103790027/10/20093780415/10/20083668314/09/200733325The bad bits:-
The front tyre is down to the wear indicators at about 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock (but it has done 11. 00 miles). The front brake pads are very low (done 8000 miles) the front discs could do with changing (there's a definite lip on them. nbsp; but doesn't seem to have got noticeably worse in the 13. 00 miles I've done) the rear tyre is only just about legal (done 7. 00 miles).
The fuel tap has seized. I think when I rebuilt it. the grease I used can't have been petrol resistant. but I've managed to turn it onto reserve so now use the fuel light as a warning to fill up (just like an injected bike). and I broke the plastic fuel knob trying to turn it by the side of the road. The fuel tap new is about £90 (day light robbery) and the knob is about £8. but Sprint Engineering do a nice aluminium one for about £20. which should break (a weak spot on the genuine ones).
The engine is a bit rattley. Part of this is the alternator engagement vanes. which are held in place by a 10mm bolt on the end of the alternator shaft. It works loose but can't fall out. and causes the vanes to rattle. I'm tired of removing it and re-tightening it now (a 10 minute job). The engine generally is a bit noisy. but hasn't got any worse since I bought it. but I did buy a spare engine. that's only done 7. 00 miles. just in case. If you want that too. as an insurance policy. you can have first refusal on it for the £500 I paid for it.
The rear calliper can be a bit sticky (a bit of drag on the disc) but that's mainly because I rarely use it. The rear shock is getting a bit tired. and the forks are quite soft (I've recently replaced the fork oil) but it does give a very smooth and comfy ride. and it does still handle well (no chicken strips on the rear 180).
The paint is starting to flake off the sump. and main covers on the engine. and the underside of the top box carrier. but nothing that a bit of paint wouldn't sort out.
The front indicators are non standard. but I do have the originals. The top box I bought has been re-sprayed at some point. and not very well. It looked good when I T-cut it. but it's starting to look a bit doggy again. and it's on a separate key as it didn't come with the bike from new.
The panniers have a few minor scrapes on them (I blame the car drivers) but I did buy the genuine Triumph touch up paint kit. which will be included in the sale. along with the original screen. indicators and (legal) number plate.
The original header blew a hole where the centre down pipe splits into two. so I bought a Trophy header which has the two brackets on the outer pipes for the fairing. I'll include the original down pipe as well. which could probably be welded.
I bought a second hand set of forks recently. which have a scrape on the right fork leg. I'll include the (stripped down) originals. for which I bought new bushes. but couldn't find the right seals. so bought the second hand pair as I needed an MOT and the originals had blown both seals.
I'm selling because I've bought an FJR1300. which is more of the same really. but a bit newer and shaft drive.
Forgot to mention I have a set of non-Triumph. (but custom made for these panniers) inner bags in black that will go with the bike. Also the battery is a Motobatt higb starting current gel battery and the headlight bulbs have been upgraded to 100/80's.
