Description

Triumph Bonneville 865SE; beautiful condition; MOT till June 2015; taxed till end October 2014. Runs beautifully and sounds like a proper old Bonnie with the aftermarket stainless steel exhausts on. Comes complete with the following accessories:Centre StandHeated GripsStainless steel aftermarket exhausts plus originalsLuggage RackPannier RailsKappa Top BoxOxford Alarmed Disc LockNew tyres were fitted front and rear less than 2000 miles ago.  The bike has been very well looked after.  The service book has entries up to 12100 miles/Sept 2011. then ownership changed to the previous owner to me in Oct 2012 - he was an elderly gentleman (in his 80s!). ex-truck mechanic who had a collection of racing Ducatis and did all his own servicing. I have no records of this. but he showed me his workshop and I was confident that this was the case. He took the mileage up to just over 20k in May this year (including a tour of Spain last year) and I have done less than 2000 miles since then. mostly on 2 visits to the Isle of Man for the TT and Classic TT. the next service will be due in May 2015. There are 2 very minor faults I am aware of: 1) the trip meter reset button is missing and therefore cannot be reset to zero. This is a common problem and the forums describe a couple of ways to remedy but I haven't done it as I wasn't over concerned about it. 2) occasionally after the bike has not been used for a while. the fuel pump "groans" for a few seconds as it pressurises the system. Then it is silent. The operation is not affected at all. I've put some fuel system conditioner in the last tank of fuel and it seems to have cured it but I think it's only decent to mention it. As I said. I have only had this beautiful bike since May. but have regretfully decided to hang up my motorcycle leathers after many years. as I just don't ride often enough any more following a change of job where I can't really use the bike. Time for me to grow old gracefully and get a sports car to play with I think :). Included are the original owner's manual and service handbook; 2 keys plus master key. Haynes Manual. Please note that the silver GIVI top box in the first photograph above is not included in the sale. A black Kappa box is included - the GIVI box will be available to the successful bidder by separate negotiation.  I would really prefer bidders to view the bike before bidding. I am at work during the day but can be around next weekend or evenings (I have a well lit garage to inspect in. ) I hope you understand that I will not allow test rides unless you provide evidence of insurance and deposit the Buy it Now value in cash with me. but will gladly demonstrate the bike working.  I have set the reserve at a realistic price. which I will not disclose but suffice to say that you would be getting an absolute bargain if it goes for the reserve. Usual small print stuff about bidding to buy not to come and kick tyres and re-negotiate. I am a genuine EBayer and value my 100% feedback. Please contact me if you would like any further information. My camera is playing up tonight so I am struggling to add photos. but will add them in the next day or so.
