For Sale Triumph TR25W 250cc 1970 Project.
I am advertising this bike on behalf of one of my customers who has decided to thin down his collection. and this popular little classic is one of the bikes he will be selling off. So please be aware this is a private Sale.
The project to restore this bike started last year. for although he originally purchased this bike several years ago to be used as a run around. it came with no paperwork. so got pushed to the back until we had more time to sort things out. nbsp;this has now all been done. the Bike was built in July 1970 and first registered on 28/04/1971. by Jimmy's Cycles of Luton. so a genuine UK bike with current V5C. and the bike retains its original Bedfordshire registration.
It came with knobbly tyres that were very very unevenly worn. investigations confirmed the front forks were bent. and yokes twisted. nbsp;these have been replaced along with all the internals. stanchions springs bushes seals etc. The rear poorly modified chain guard was also found to be fouling the rear spindle so the rear tyre damage had been caused by the rear wheel running off centre. As previously stated this has all now been sorted and it has been fitted with a brand new set of road going tyres.
The re commissioning included oil tank removal and cleaned. engine flush. new filters etc. alloy welding and re thread to timing case. carb strip and rebuild. After initial start up it did start to smoke a little so maybe stuck rings or guides will need further investigation. The wiring will also need attention. nbsp;and it will require the speedo and the splines on the gear change sorting. apart from that the balance of work required would appear to be cosmetic's. but obviously on an almost 45 year old bike I carn't guarantee that.
Viewing is both recommended and welcomed. but if that isn't feasible and you require any further information or pictures please don't hesitate to contact me. my details are listed in contact details shown just below the listing.
Payment is cash on collection.
Thanks for looking
