1952 Triumph Thunderbird

This bike has a lot of mismatch parts. but it is a runner. There is a clear Texas title for this motorcycle. The frame number is TF 22444. the motor number is 22444. The bike is titled by the motor number as a 1952 Triumph. The frame number indicates that the frame is a 1948. In 1948 Triumphs did not come from the factory with matching motor and frame numbers. They did not assemble matching motor and frames until 1950. The motor number is from 1952. A 1948 motor would have had a different crankcase breather. A 1948 model would also not have a side stand lug. so it appears that the rear section of the frame is not from 1948. So this is bike is a mash up of parts. It does run. and it is a solid starting point for building your own pre-unit since it already has a clear title. You can see a video of the bike starting and running below. You’ll see that it is a project bike and will need a lots of love. There are incorrect hardware fasteners. missing hardware fasteners. a worn out carburetor. leaking forks. and a multitude of other issues to attend to. This could be made into a cool period custom.
