Description
Since the auction ended last night I have been asked the following questions:
Q- Does this motorcycle have a Title?A- Yes, t has a valid New York State Title (see pictures). This is a transferrable title that is recognized anywhere in the country. The bike had to undergo a New York State Police examination behind closed doors to ensure that the quality of workmanship, oadability and safety of the rig has not been compromised, nd to determine that no stolen parts were used during the rebuild. It was awarded a "Rebuilt" title as seen in the picture. You will not have any problems with your motor vehicle department in getting the bike licensed and on the road....if that is a concern print a copy of the title and take it to your DMV and ask them.Q- Does the bike come with a sidecar cover?A- Yes, have installed the cover and added pictures of it in place. It is rarely used as the Warden is usually in the hack when it is being operated.Q- Does this bike come with a tool kit?A- Yes, t comes with both tool kits, ne containing the tools and the second containing tire irons, pressure gauge, nd a tube patch kit. I have added a picture of the kits.Q- When was the last service completed?A- The bike was last serviced just prior to my listing it last week. It does not have 5 miles on the service and oil.Q- Can you deliver the bike to New Hampshire?A- Sorry but delivery is your responsibility, will assist your shipper, old the bike in my climate controlled shop and make sure it sits clean and happy until you or your shipper gets here.Q- Would you consider re-listing he bike with a lower starting bid and no reserve?A- I will lower my starting bid by $500.00 and as far as a reserve...I do not believe in reserve auctions....it didn't have a reserve on it last time and it will not have a reserve on it this time.Q- Do you have any pictures of the bike before your rebuild?A- Yes, have scanned the original Craigslist advertisement that was posted when I bought the bike years ago....granted they are not the best pictures but you can see clearly that the damage was limited to the crash bar, xhaust, nd engine just as my initial auction described. I understand your reluctance when the word "Salvage" is used but fear not.....it was and is a great bike and no damage occurred to the bike itself.Comment- "I wished you lived closer to Hawaii so I could buy your Ural"A- I wished I lived closer to Hawaii also!So folks, ere we go again: You are bidding on a 2004 Ural Tourist sidecar rig. I purchased this Ural back in 2010 after the previous owner had an accident in which she swerved to avoid a side impact from a car that passed a stop sign and she impacted a guardrail support post with the left cylinder . The impact caused a crack in the engine block and the insurance company totaled the bike as a result. The only damage to the bike was to the crash bar, xhaust header and the engine, have done no body work or repaint, t was as it is now. I removed the Ural motor and installed a BMW R75/6 motor with a Chang Jiang transmission and BMW /2 clutch plate. I also installed an Accel coil and Mikuni Carburetors with K&N air filters. Because of the salvage status the bike had to undergo a state police inspection before the new title was issued. It passed with flying colors, n fact one of the Troopers at the inspection station wanted to take it home! My wife and I have ridden the rig nearly 2000 Km without an issue and the only reason that I am selling it is that we have a Gear-Up that we ride so the Tourist simply sits in the shop gathering dust. We did take it out last weekend for a nice evening ride, nd as aways it ran great. It needs nothing but could use new pushrod guide seals at some future point as it tends to drip spots of oil, ike an old dog marking it's territory. It is also equipped with a National Cycle Plexistar 2 windshield and luggage rack over the spare tire. It has always been stored in a heated shop. The mileage shown on the odometer is in KM not miles, t equals 5737 miles.I know that buying a bike off of the internet can be stressful but I offer you this: if you come here as the high bidder, ook the bike over, ake it for a ride (or allow me to take you for a ride in the sidecar) and are not 100% satisfied that I have described this bike correctly, f you find any issues and want to back out of the sale you may leave with my blessings. I am that sure of this motorcycle. Now for the fine print.- No test rides to anyone unless you are the high bidder or a representative of the high bidder. Payment must be made in the form of cash on pickup, ire transfer, r check in which case the check MUST clear my bank before the bike is released into your possession. Sorry about that folks but you know as well as I do that there are less than honest people out there (I retired from law enforcement after 35 years). The auction will not end early, he Ural will sell to the high bidder at the close of the auction…period. There is no “Buy-It-Now” option so plan your bidding strategy, rrange your financing,do whatever is necessary to make certain your financing is in place and bid away. Please check my feedback, am an honest seller. If you live nearby and would like to come and look the bike over I will be happy to accommodate you. We (the Ural and I) are located near Penn Yan, Y 14527. If you are having the bike shipped I will do everything in my power to assist the shipper short of transporting the bike to another pick-up point, t will ship from my shop or at roadside at my address….period. That about covers the fine print….yea I know it is painful but it is also necessary. Also published at eBay.com
