OVERVIEW

-A Ural is basically a WWII German BMW Sidecar;

-Lore holds that the Russians stole a German Sidecar and retro-engineered it

-What is true is that the geometry and engine configuration has not changed in 70 years

-What has changed is the addition of modern components (brembo front disk brake, tc., ucati Electrics)

-The only motorcycle in the world with on demand two wheel drive & reverse

-Properly run in (I farm for a living, now my way around and respect machinery

-Service records included

-fresh fluid change at 1500 Kilometers (Engine, ear Box, inal Drive)

-I bought this bike new from a dealer in North Central New Jersey

-I am the only one who has ridden/driven it.

-I bought the bike to be a “parade” bike, ot a daily rider

-I have used it as the chase vehicle for charity bicycle rides, “pit” bike at local horse racing events, parade bike, “show” bike at antique vehicle events

-Never ridden on salted roads

-Kept in my heated garage

-Carburetor needle shimmed to improve cold weather starting (I did not rejet as the shims solved the cold blooded nature; I have the new jets and they’re included)

-The Knobbies ($300.00) provided the grip I needed on fields where the stock tires, specially the front tire, ended to lock up and skid under braking

-Complete Modtop Performance Exhaust System ($550.00) – Purchased fromTerry Crawford Sales; This exhaust system is lighter, mproves performance, as a vastly more pleasing exhaust note, s immeasurably better looking than stock. This complete system is no longer available. Photo provided.

-Original Exhaust System is included in sale

-Custom Cover ($239.00)from Terry Crawford Sales; This is a two piece cover, ne for the bike, ne for the sidecar; it is all weather, reathable, as snug down straps; it is the same material used for high end boat covers

MECHANICAL/COSMETIC CONDITION

-Starts, tops, uns, andles as it should. No issues

-No cosmetic flaws; Caveat: it needs a good washing. I’ve just had my right hip replaced and washing it is beyond me.

-That said, rals are notoriously cold blooded; even with the shimmed needles, t still runs a little lean until warmed up

-I went to great pains to run this bike in properly. It has never been run at constant highway speeds

-The first 500 Kilometers I rode it on country roads in Pennsylvania where I live, n fields here on the farm

-If you believe the literature on Urals, his one is still not “broken in.”

-So here is an opportunity to buy a perfect Ural at a fraction of the cost of a new one.

SUBJECTIVE VALUE

-A twilight or evening ride across the fields on my farm is a marvelous experience.

-The Spotlight mounted on the side car acts like a jack light.

-At public events, he bike is a total guy magnet. I mean guys are all over this bike with their questions.

-Not that it’s not a chick magnet, t is, ust not in the same way; they could care less about what kind of bike it is. All they want is to go for a ride in the side car. I know this for a fact.

-In Eastern European Countries, here are motocross races for Ural Sidecars

-There are internet accounts of Cross Country Rides on a Ural Sidecar; perhaps this will be you if you are the high bidder

REASON FOR SELLING

-I’m retiring from farming and have become involved with A River Conservation Group in Maryland, or which I need and am having a center console custom built. The URAL will help pay for it. (I am also offering for sale my BMW GS Adventure, MW Sertao, nd Mini John Cooper Works, hinning out the fleet)
