Description

Vespa Piaggio ET4 Black 125CC 2004 Project near Cardiff. Hello and thanks for looking.  I'm going to be as open and frank as possible about this bike - I don't want to mislead any potential buyers!Firstly. the bike is located in Llantwit Major - about 30 minutes west from Cardiff. The lucky winner will need to arrange collection from here. I'm happy to help load the bike onto a trailer/van etc but you'll need to bring your own ropes etc. Should you wish to view the bike. I'm happy for serious potential buyers to take a look but please don't waste both our time! Best time for viewings is evenings - contact me if you are interested.  I purchased this bike from Urban Rider in London in March 2010. I used it for 18 months commuting to Kingston - about 20 miles a day.  During that time. it was a fantastic runner - cheap to run and great fun.  I moved to South Wales end of 2011 and sadly. it's been unused since then. I have checked it. cleaned it and run it a little each summer to prevent any seizing but unfortunately never got around to getting back out on the road on it. Age. a growing sense of mortality and a new wife have all conspired to keep me away from living on the edge - at least as far as a 125CC Vespa counts as living on the edge. Don't judge me!I have receipts and paperwork for any work undertaken during that time - new tires. battery etc which the winner will receive - I keep an efficient filing method! It is currently SORN with no MOT.  Points that the buyer should be aware of:As per the pictures. it has a dent on the front - it doesn't affect the running but is aesthetically a little unpleasing to the eye. The ignition lock barrel is loose and will need new clips to hold it steady in the bodyBattery is dead - I've tried charging it with the (included) Optimate but it's dead dead. Unfortunately this means I haven't been able to run it since March this year. Exhaust - as per all Vespas. it's made out of iron and rusts. It's a known and recognised shortfall with Vespas unfortunately. Please see the photos. It might need replacing in the near future. All the chrome bars have rust - they can be cleaned up with tin foil but once rust is on them. it's tricky to eliminate - sorry. Included are a helmet. gloves. Abus lock. Haynes manual. a lucky dip box of various parts from my tinkering days - plenty of custom mod jobs that can be done on these bikes. the Optimate battery charger (the industry standard!). the weather jacket/nappy cover thing (!) and the windscreen. Mileage. as far as I can remember from March when last fired up. was just under 7000 so plenty of life left in the engine yet. So - I think I've been open and honest about the state and condition of the bike. It's going to need some attention to bring it back up to MOT and roadworthy spec - but hence the low starting price and no (no!) reserve. Great Scot!I'm going to ask/insist that the winner pays £50 deposit through Paypal before collection. Full payment either Paypal in advance or cash on collection - please let me know which way you intend to pay.  Any questions. please don't hesitate to ask - I'll do my best to answer asap for you.

Just to clarify - mileage is 8297 - as can be seen in pic 3. No idea how I missed this earlier - doh!
