Description

FALSE START. OFFENSE - FIVE YARD PENALTY!  The bike was sold last week for almost 8 hours.   until the buyer's wife came home from work.   Super nice guy - we spoke on the phone a few times. he submitted an offer that I accepted and paid the deposit.   I gave him the weekend to see if he could work out the details. but we canceled the transaction and now we're back up for sale again.   Please make sure if you want to buy that you have the appropriate permissions.   On the plus side. during the time that I thought it was sold. I had a cashier's check drafted from my bank and overnighted to the loan company. so now the bike is PAID IN FULL and I'm just waiting for the title to come back. For sale is a 2011 Victory Vision Tour Premium motorcycle with a Hannigan Astro 2+2 sidecar.   It's a low-mileage driver in excellent condition - not a trailer queen and not one of those so-called "show bikes" - this bike is built to ride.   The only reason. and I mean the only reason I'm selling it. is that we are moving to a new town where our new house doesn't have a garage and there are 6 miles of un-paved roads between the house and civilization.   I just can no longer have a toy that I have to pay for off-site storage and drive to in order to use.   In the couple summers we've had this. we've drive to Maine. Canada and Wisconsin and really enjoyed it.   While I don't seek the attention (nor do I crave it). the rig definitely gets noticed.   Be prepared to talk about it when you stop for gas.   My wife refuses to ride on the back of a motorcycle. but was perfectly at home in the sidecar with her books. knitting. iPad. etc.   It became a nice way for her to enjoy something that I love and to see places we've never been.   I never had a wired intercom installed because we have SENA wireless headsets in our helmets. The bike was purchased as a brand new end-of-season in late 2011.   It features Victory's White Pearl paint with Silver accents and comes with a 5-year powertrain warranty that follows the VIN. so you'll have about 2 years left on it.   The sidecar was purchased used. private party from a gentleman who had it mounted to his Goldwing.   It's a 2008 Hannigan Astro 2+2.   I had the bike and sidecar professionally mounted at the Hannigan Motorsports factory in Murray. Kentucky so that everything is guaranteed to be done right.   The sidecar is painted silver. which is almost a dead-on match for the silver accent paint on the bike.   If the color combination isn't your thing. the sidecar can be a canvas for whatever you like.   One of the nice things about Hannigan sidecars is that they feature quick-connections for the integrated brakes and electrical system.   By pulling a few bolts and disconnecting the brakes/electrical. you can turn the bike back into two-wheel fun.   The bike does have the original Hannigan camber control. There is a photo of the left handlebar and the switch above the clutch handle is for camber control. Push the switch away from you and the sidecar lifts - pull the switch towards you and the sidecar lowers. Mechanically. the bike is still stock.   I added a few accessories for comfort (described below). but never did any engine/exhaust upgrades or changed the steering setup.   This is the third sidecar rig I've owned and by far the nicest riding.   Previous bikes had front-end mods to make them easier to drive. but this bike needs nothing of the sort.   It tracks true and straight without any wobble from a dead stop to highway speeds. and steers very well.   A raked or leading-link front end may make steering slightly easier. but would rule out any riding without the sidecar.   You can comfortably ride this rig through town or down the interstate without any issues.   It will happily do 70 all day long.   The break-in service was performed at the Victory dealer where I purchase the bike. and despite published 5000 mile oil change intervals. the bike has the oil changed twice a year with Mobile One V-Twin Synthetic.   I will include the next 6-pack case of oil. filters and replacement copper crush washers/gaskets with the sale of the bike.   You'll notice in the 11th photo of the primary cover that the Victory badge cover has some discoloration and road grime.   I've never changed this because it wasn't a big deal to me. but a quick search on eBay shows you can get replacement covers in almost any theme you want.   Please note that this is only the external. replaceable badge cover. and not the actual primary engine/trans cover. Hannigan makes great sidecars - in fact they make absolutely awesome sidecars.   The Astro 2+2 is designed as a wide body two-person sidecar that is comfortable with two smaller people. one person with dogs or as a luxury coupe for one person.   It's wired for lights/turn signals. 12V power ports and a 3-speed fan for air circulation.   The top is removable and stows behind the seat.   There is a full trunk that can swallow a ton of luggage.   We've been on 2 week trips with the rig without any issues.   The trunk is locking with a key. and there is an internal latch inside the trunk that locks the top hatch.   There are a couple dings on this sidecar that have been there since I purchased it.   You can see a couple scratches on the side and the lowest air deflector in front looks like it's hit a driveway approach a couple times (paint scratches. chips. stress. etc. ).   The body is solid without any cracks. the roof is in great shape and the windshield has no cracks.   The overall width of this rig from mirror to sidecar vender is 92". so it will fit into a standard 96" garage door with care.   I always back it into my garage for a quick getaway. I'd love to talk to you.   It's always nice when someone can see the bike in person before buying. but I can recommend a good motor transport company that has carried the fully assembled rig in the past (quickly. affordably and safely).   I won't arrange transportation or pay for it. but I'll work with your carrier.   I won't allow test drives without cash in hand because I don't want you learning how to drive a sidecar on my bike. but I will take truly interested buyers for a ride around the block.   In any event. I will never release the bike to you or your carrier until payment has cleared my bank and the funds are transferred to another account.   If you commit to buy. I'll need a deposit via Paypal with the rest due via certified bank cashiers' check or wire transfer (again - no bike will change hands until payment is fully cleared).   I know I'm asking big money for the rig. and I've tried to disclose everything I can. but please. please. please contact me if you have any questions or need more details. A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF:  I'm 6'4". but only have a 30" inseam. I'm about 375 lbs so I keep the air pressure in the rear suspension pretty high. I'm not an aggressive driver but I am relatively active in leaning towards my turns.   Due to the size of the sidecar. it is extremely stable - I've never had an issue with it lifting the chair on right-hand turns.   I keep the camber leveled out to compensate for me on the bike and my wife in the car and that's about it.   I never have any issues with my feet touching the ground. I've never needed reverse on the bike (a Victory optional accessory. should you want to add it) because I can just duck-walk it backwards wherever I go. Parking uphill - just drive into the spot and let gravity help you out when it's time to leave. Parking downhill - just back into the spot and let the engine power you up the hill when you leave. Carry a wheel chock just in case and you're fine. If you ever take the cycle on a car ferry (like we did from St. John. New Brunswick to Digby. Nova Scotia). there are tons of available tie-down spots for security. I know that's probably more that you care about. and I thank you for humoring me. We've loved riding around with this rig and I will miss it.   Even if you're just a Victory Vision or sidecar person and not really in the market. feel free to reach out to me. NEGOTIABLES:  I do have a few items that are not included with the sale that we could negotiate for more $$$.   Once the bike sells. I'm going to post these to eBay. but if we can work out the money. I'm happy to sell them with the bike. - Brand new Victory Vision front and rear wheels and Dunlop Elite tires. I know it sounds crazy. but I've always purchased an extra set of rims and tires for every vehicle I own so that I don't get caught with my pants down (so to speak).   This bike is no exception.   I have a set of brand new take-off rims and tires for this bike. - Factory refurbished Garmin Zumo 650 GPS unit.   I purchased it last year but never installed it.   Additional accessories are required to do a true "factory install" or you could just handlebar mount it and wire into the power plug. - Misc helmets. head sets and jackets.   Let me know if you're really interested and I'll get you the details. FYI - I have a conference from 10/2-10/10 so I won't be able to show the bike during that time.   I'll have email/phone accessibility so I can be contacted and respond to requests.
