Having used eBay many times to buy and sell items, understand the challenge of watching multiple auctions. Every time I have sold a vehicle I have gotten the same question about the reserve. "What is the reserve?" Which makes me want to ask "What is the most you will pay?" eBay explicitly tells sellers they should not disclose the reserve. As a seller, ou want to get the most you can for an item and as a buyers you want to pay the lowest price.
Personally, look at blue book values, ther sellers etc. and try to set my Buy it Now price a little less than blue book or what I would like to get. My reserve price is always a good percentage lower, owever I still have to be fair to myself and cover what I owe or what I believe to be the lowest fair price for the item. I usually even sacrifice a little since most auctions usually come in lower than you would like. I'm not a professional seller looking to make a huge profit. Unfortunately, any buyers only want it for half the real value or less. They are hoping for that one in a million deal.
My hope in the end is to that the buyer and I can settle on a fair price, hich usually means we both give a little.
