Red Yamaha XS250 1976

This is a rare example of a very early XS250. One owner from new and always kept under cover. Its only ever had one minor accident in its 40 year history where the brake lever. rear indicator and headlamp bezel sustained damage. It was one of 2 early imports into the UK by Searings of Colchester and Yamaha fitted spoked wheels due to alloy production problems. All subsequent bikes had the alloy wheels making this a rare model. The bike was always reliable. but has not been used for 10 years so unlikely to start without some TLC and a new battery. Last time it ran the engine sounded good which would be expected with such low mileage. Previous maintenance just prior to it being taken off the road was a new clutch. new chain and sprockets and tires. As can be seen from the photos its in quite good condition. Even the chrome work on the original wheels looks good. Unfortunately the original exhausts didn't last long and were replaced with a 2 into 1 system. this is the only non-standard part on the bike.
