Yamaha TDR250 1989 TDR 250 YPVS

Up for auction is my 1989 Yamaha TDR250. I purchased it in November 2007 off the first owner. it was in a bit of a mess having been neglected for many years. I painted the frame. fitted a TZR250 aluminium swingarm and wheels. and generally cleaned the bike up. It was used then for a few years. the wheels were changed to Cagiva Mito Evo wheels as these allow for a better tyre choice (110/150). Also fitted an underslung Brembo rear caliper. and a 6-pot YZF750 front caliper.  I purchased some race pipes. built by TDR-Man 'Martin77' and also gave the top end a set of oversize pistons in fresh bores. Whilst apart. the cylinders were sent to Martin for a light tune which basically involved a cleaning & matching of the ports. as Yamaha intended them to be. The stock pipes are now fitted. these are in 'ok' condition although have been welded at the headers. Unfortunately. since 2012 the TDR has been sat in the shed doing nothing. I've had many plans and ideas for it. but other projects are constantly taking priority so it's time to sell on and free up some funds to finish my 350LC project. The first 2 pictures are from today. I've had it running but the left hand carb is leaking out of the overflow. I'll try and get this sorted before the end of the auction. probably a bit of dirt in the float valve. The engine is a peach and sounds great. I'd say there is less than 3000 miles on the rebored cylinders. The battery is dead! There is a blow from the exhaust join too. but new gaskets should sort this. The plastics are genuine Yamaha items. and not cheap fibreglass copies. Being original. they have gone a little brittle so have a couple of cracks here and there (pictured). the left hand fairing piece has a large crack in it where the bike fell over whilst in the first owners possession. these are available on Yahoo Japan.  The last picture shows the bike as it looks with the underslung pipes. these are to be included in the sale but unfortunately are minus exhaust cans. I had Tyga cans fitted. these are available and relatively cheap. The tail light/bracket/small plate are included in the sale too. The original owners and service manual are included in the sale. however the cover for the owners manual has gone AWOL whilst in my possession! There is no MOT on the bike. it wouldn't take much to get it through one however. possibly some tyres. a horn and a battery. It may need more. so please don't hold me to this!The original toolkit is included. and the frame and engine numbers match. There are a set of standard wheels included in the sale. although they are not in great condition. Perfect for using the hubs to lace into some new rims (which was my intention!). It has been used and standing for a while so will need a good clean up or restore. Some bits are good. others are bad. the frame paint is pretty patchy in places for example. The Ohlins shock shown fitted will be replaced with the original item. The Ohlins one has lost it's damping.  Few spares to go with it. standard grab handles. a rack and a load of other bits. Bit of an update. I've had a tinker this afternoon & cured the leaking carb. TDR is now running like a dream again (barring a blow from the exhaust manifold. daresay a new set of gaskets would work wonders.
