Description

Welcome to my 1991 FZR 400. MOT until April 2015It was built in 1991 but not registered until 1993. I've had the bike for just under a year and enjoyed it very much but I'd now like something bigger. The bike had no history when I bought it but the previous owner had just given it an oil change and new MOT in April 2014 after having had it dry stored for 4 years. I've only done 700km on it since. I have put new brake pads on it all round and have kept it on a trickle charger all the time I have had it and started her up once a month when not in use. It starts well and when warmed up and off the choke it is very smooth. Good brakes. good power high up the rev range. Exceptional handling. very light bike and 'flickable'. Paint finish isn't great. looks like someone has done it with a spray can at some point. The bike however does look very smart from a distance with the powder coated white wheels and contrasting colours. A few marks over the plastic work to be expected of this age but nothing serious. Electrics are all sound. Previous owner has shortened exhaust can down which has a scuff on it but sounds great. I am after something with a bigger engine so would be open to any sort of deal you may have going?!Bike In Cullompton. Devon. Test ride with cash in my hand. Call Laurie on 07866860993 for any more info or message me. Cash on collectionThanks. Just remembered to add that the temperature gauge is faulty and reads above hot within about 30 seconds of starting. I have receipt confirming a trip to the garage who investigated this and fitted a new coolant sensor confirming that it is the gauge at fault. I ordered an FZR 400 temp gauge but it has a different wiring to it. The bike has correct level of coolant and no leaks. I rode it to London and back with no issues at all. I also fitted a new valve cover gasket after I bought it as it was seeping slightly in one corner. Happy Bidding.
