Yamaha RD 400 RD400 400D

For Sale is my beloved 1977 RD400D.

It has just  come from the garage having new fork seals. kick start. carb clean/carb kit & carb set up plus MOT with no advisories.

Good bits

Straight. UK bike. clean history. new seat cover. good paint. original tool kit. original handbook. service manual. new rear mudguard. nbsp; good chrome. good tyres. nbsp;working oil pump- no premix here. working steering lock. pulls like a train.  12 months mot. piles of history/old mot's/tax disks/bills and the all important matching frame and engine numbers

Non-Original bits

Neon headlight light conversion. electronic timing

Not so good bits

Tool kit fixing to frame broken. have had replacement piece made - just needs welding on

Top end rattle. one ring stuck in on lh barrel. Will try and free. will need honing at best or rebore at worst.  Rides well. just rattles above 7000rpm and tick over.

Checked history - two colour changes. rest all good (petty I know)

Separate key for ignition. seat/steering/fuel on second key (petty)

Spares

Two carb kits. remains of gasket set. two mirrors. spare oil pump. spare headlights. gear change rubber. stop end rubber. side reflectors . engine decal

   In summary this is a complete genuine original bike. with couple of reversible upgrades. I have collected all the goodies and this saves you the effort. It turns heads where ever she goes. It pulls like a train and is unbeatable round town. permanent grin assured. Bit rattley but not a show stopper.

These bikes are getting rare. especially with matching numbers and in original condition.

Sensible reserve. advertised elsewhere so it may end early.

Viewing/test rides welcome. it is taxed so if you prove insurance take her out. deposit required understandably.

Bike is cash on collection. no cheques or px. No time wasters or dreamers. ?500 non-refundable within 3 days of auction end.
