Restored 1981 Yamaha YZ465H MX Motocross Sensible Offers enduro scrambler

1981 Yamaha YZ465HThis is a US import I bought a couple years ago as a running project. It was mostly in mechanically good condition. just requiring the usual service items & few bits n bobs plus a cosmetic restoration. with lots of new new & reconditioned original parts. The chassis has been completely stripped down to last nut & bolt. lots of new & remade parts including - top & bottom chain rollers. front & rear roller/sliders. stainless brake rod. re-bushed brake pedal. lots of new nuts & bolts incl stainless. All new plastics incl - frnt guard r/guard. frnt number board. Maier sidepanels. new gaiters & seat cover. The tank was pretty good. but had various marks/scratches. so I had it professionaly restored & polished back to near perfect. rebuilt fuel tap & added new top quality graphics. tank work is probably the single most expensive part of the rebuild along with the d&g pipe & really tops it off nicely. The engine was partially stripped & bore/piston/rings measured. all in excellent order. piston looks very low hours & gives 165psi on the compression test. Clutch. gearbox. stator etc all in great condition. only had to replace the ignition coil with a new one & the carb inlet rubber which was leaking & managed to find a good used original that works just fine. I have fitted a brand new bare metal D&G exhaust which has been clear coated & coupled to an original tail pipe/silencer. The silencer has some dents. but they are pretty hard to find & I dare say it would perform a little better with a modern silencer. but I just wanted to try & keep as many of the good original bits as possible. The rear wheel is an original one with the very light gold anodised finish. it has a couple minor dings & scratches. but presentable & has good bearings. spokes & sprocket. The front wheel is not an original YZ one.  it looks to be possibly XT & has a couple of heavy dings in the rim. but have a new rim kicking around for negotiation. I have searched for an original. but only found them available in the US. so left it as is for now. The forks are in great condition. no leaks etc & the rear shock seems to work fine. although a modern replacement would be sensible if you intend racing.
