HI welcome to the auction of my much loved late model 3HE FZR600. I have quite a few FZR`s and this one has been my daily runner only on dry days. As you can see from photos the bodywork is not matching and there have been some "subtle" mods done by previous owner which I have systematically tried to undo. I had planned to return the whole bike to standard including standard decals and paintwork as the main fairing is not my taste at all. It is actually a really nice bike. sounds superb and starts on the button. I certainly never planned to sell it but a mint 4JH came up and I had to have it!
The engine has actually only done 20. 00 miles as the previous owner changed the engine for a lower mileage unit as the other engine had a supposed clunky gear change. I still have the old engine now in another bike if the new owner needs to see it. The logbook correctly shows the new engine number. The bikes mileage shows 34. 00 (and climbing) I bought the bike as a job lot of FZR parts as said I have quite a few! This one stands apart though as the frame. swinging arm forks etc have almost completely dodged the usual FZR rust (steel frame and swing arm) and the forks are in very good condition. The rear shock has been changed (thankfully) for a Hagon adjustable unit. It handles superbly. The rear tyre was the only advise on the MOT as getting low but is still very much legal.
The exhaust is quite noisy but it sounds gorgeous and I believe not loud enough for concern. I have never received a complaint. Its had a new chain and sprockets recently and lots of sourced standard parts like the indicators and a standard rear light fitted recently. As said the boy work is in good order in that there are no large cracks etc but they are all sourced from different FZR`s (by me) but I do have the matching side panels and rear trims painted in that fetching pearlescent orange which the new owner is welcome to.
I have used the bike up until recently for my 50 mile round trip to work and it has never been any trouble. its good on fuel and very fast for its age and as said handles really nicely. I have receipts etc for lots of previous work and can provide details of the previous owner who can confirm the engine change etc.
Bad points : The bodywork. People say it looks really smart! Hmmm. The ignition switch can be fiddly. Ive got used to it but I can supply another at end of sale. The clutch slips slightly when its absolutely flat out! Its not the clutch its me running it on fully synthetic car oil (free at work) Castrol Power1 will cure this. I never get it to slip because I don't ride like an idiot. If you like I can change the oil after auction. One brake disc has a slight warp (typical FZR) replacements are cheap but its never really bothered me. Its fluffy at low revs in traffic. it has been set up on a dyno i think for good power. its easy to ride round it though.
