Yamaha TX500 US Import in great condition with V5 & MOT but requires attention

Here for sale due to a baby on the way. is my beloved TX500

This TX500 is imported from Colorado in the USA back in 2013. dispite not being made until 1973 the DVLA has seen fit to give it a 1970 number plate which seems to happen a lot but I’m not complaining (you can use black numberplate if you like and it won’t be illegal

I have all the UK paper work including the V5. MOT. dateing letter from Yamaha. V948 and import atherisation from the DVLA

I even have a copy of the original registration from Colorado and the actial registation from the last Colorado owner who’d owned the bike from 1984

Bad Bits:

When running. it would start first time and ride lovely (very smooth and lots of power) for about 20 mins then stop as if it ran out of fuel

After abount another 20 mins it would start again and run fine for a little while longer before stopping again

I presumed this was a carb issue so stripped the carbs (which were spotless) and replaced the jets (even though the carbs were overhalled in March of last year) I still have the bits I replaced

Anyway I’m no experts on carbs and now I can’t get the thing to start at all so someone is going to get a bargain as I can’t spend any more money on this

Historic TAX

Very low mileage

This bike is in great condition and won’t take much to get it started again. I just can’t afford to pay a garage to sort it for me
