Yamaha T80 Townmate scooter bike. 4 speed semi-automatic shaft drive. grey. registered 24/2/90. 28K miles. MOT’d to September 2015. owned for nearly 3 years. 1 previous owner from new. serviced regularly (have the book). Haynes manual. 2 sets of keys. recent new decent Continental Go tyres. Kick start - always starts and runs like a sewing machine. V5 present for our address. Does about 50mph. a bit more downhill. loads of mpg. You’ll need to tax it now under present rules but it’s cheap enough.
One of our kids had this for going to college on. now left home. It has always been reliable. gets lots of comments / laughed at. We changed the oil every 6 months. The top box plate on the rack in the pictures isn’t on it now. Condition-wise I would say it’s definitely above average for its age. there is some minor corrosion on the chrome wheel rims and some of the main frame and forks paint has been touched up around the edges. It’s got a Honda C90 exhaust on it and the seat has been recovered at some stage (all fine). One front indicator has a zip tie on it as it was a bit wobbly. The lights are a bit crap at night as they are only 6 volt. hence the added bicycle lights on it in pics to get a bit more seen. It’s been a great little first bike and certainly more unusual than the normal chavvy modern scooters about. With shaft drive there's no need to ponce around with adjusting chains or oiling either. Be sad to see it go really.
