YAMAHA FAZER FZS600, Long MOT, MRA Touring Screen, Givi Lockbox

My wife and I have used the Fazer as a commuter bike and it has been a solid performer.  I have fitted an MRA touring screen which makes cruising on the motorway a pleasure (I am 6ft1in).  I have maintained the bike myself since 2012.  The average MPG is around 54.  It has recently passed MOT without any issues.  

 The last service in Apr-14 (47. 00 miles) included:

Oil and filter change

Air filter

EBC rear brake disc

DID VX Heavy Duty Chain

Front and Rear Sprockets

New front sprocket retaining nut (recommended replacement by Yamaha as original nut had a habit of coming loose!)

New magnetic drain plug

The previous service May-13 32. 00 miles included oil and filter changes along with a new fuel filter and NGK Iridium Spark plugs.

I also change oil at half year intervals.   Chain is cleaned and lubed on a weekly basis.

The original exhaust downpipes were replaced with a stainless steel system in Oct-12. 27100 miles.   Also to mention the faulty speedo sensor has been replaced along with the gear selector springs in 2013.   Both headlights have been wired for dipped beam for better visibility at night.

Both tyres are Bridgestone Battlax BT021.   The front is a few months old with in great condition with plenty of tread.   The rear has been on the bike a bit longer but has plenty of tread left.

Rear brakes pads have plenty of life. the front pads are likely needed to be changed at next annual service.  

The bike is in my Wife?ˆ™s name and she will be here to sign the V5.

My wife originally bought the bike in a shiny showroom back in 2000 and it had about 2k on the clock.  After having children the bike was used less and less.   I kept the bike garaged and maintained which is why there is a gap in MOT?ˆ™s between 2006 and 2012 while the bike was untaxed.

 I only have one set of keys for the bike and lockbox and alarm fob. I do have a spare alarm fob but the battery is dead.  I will search around for the spare keys as last saw them when we moved some years ago so no promises.   If I find them in future I will post them to the buyer.

The tank does have some minor chips in the paintwork with a larger ding on lower right side (see pictues) . the bodywork and fairing do have some scratches and there is a small fairing crack around the RHS indicator.  The engine paint has faded in places.   There is corrosion in places but these have all been treated to avoid further spreading.  The bike has never been dropped as far as I know (unless my wife is not telling!)

It does have a Baglux tank cover as you see in the pictures but three of the four buckles are broken.   I just tape them down.   I also have the original screen to go with the bike.   It has the full toolkit under the seat.

You will need to get road tax which is £58 per year.
