1988 Yamaha VMAX 1200 Motorcycle Muscle bike Clear title needs carbs rebuilt

1988 Yamaha VMAX 1200 Muscle Bike I had this listed earlier as an 89. I thought for sure it was but when I got the title from our deposit box I saw it was indeed an 88! I did not want any confusion so I ended the auction early and corrected the listing(Ebay will not allow you to edit a listing once there are bids on it) Sorry for the trouble. I am making this a 3 day listing so it will still end as previously scheduled on Sunday. Hi there. I am selling my 88 Vmax 1200. it has a little over 17. 00 miles on it. I bought this bike about 4 years ago intending to do a few things to it and run it for all its worth. When I bought it all it needed was the carbs tuned up. it ran good when started but you had to keep the choke on for it to keep running. clogged low idle circuit I was told. Anyway. you know how it goes. kids. ob. ther projects etc. and I never got around to fixing the bike up. It's now sat in my garage for 4 years or so and I have only got to ride it a few times around the block now and then. So this will need to be gone through pretty good before it is road ready. The carbs leak gas so they will need to be rebuilt. I went to move it the other day and the hydraulic clutch stopped working(it has alot of slack in it) not sure what it needs there but it should be pretty simple. When I had the bike running it did shift fine and through all the gears. I would throw new tires on it also just to be safe. So to be clear --this bike can NOT be driven home. it will need to be picked up on a trailer/truck. it will need some work to get it up and running. It has a clear title. it was signed and dated (December 2010)by the seller when I bought it. was waiting untill I got the bike done before I signed the title and got it registered. never got it done so I never got it registered in my name. I'm not sure if that's a problem in some states that the title is dated back 4 years so just letting you know. I know of a couple states that make you pay like an extra $30 for not having the title transferred in the required time frame. This also has the original owners manual and 2 sets of keys. I started the bike up today. gas smelled awful but it still started up. would still only idle and then die when I gave it gas. I could rev it up past 3k with some help from starting fluid. once it revved past 3k it would stay running without the help of starting fluid. below 3k and it would just idle and then die once I gave it gas again. I will surely understand if somebody wants to retract their bid. I took the bike out of the garage and started it up today. Gas smells terrible but it still starts with the choke. I can rev it up if I spray a little quick start in it. it will stay past 3. 00 rpm's without the help of the starting fluid once it gets there. when I drop it below 3. 00 it drops to idle and will die if I give it any gas.
