SOME OF THE HISTORY; I have owned this bike for about ten years. I've garaged it the whole time. I'm in my 50's and now I have spinal injuries. I have only ridden her a handful of times in all those years. I only tagged her for one of those years. She's never been kid ridden that it would appear. There is no surface rust all over the chrome. as she's a desert bike and before that. in Western. dry South Dakota. A LOT OF NEW STUFF: I put brand new tires and tubes on her with only 1 mile on them. They still have the fuzzies on them. New battery. When she's running. my meter shows a strong charge from the magneto on the bat. I bought new front fork seals and boots and I'm too injured to do the work now. I'll include those in the sale. I have an original shop manual with all the pages and hardly any grease ect on the pages. but the binding has come apart. You will get the shop manual. She has the original tool kit. but I don't think all the tools are there. The plastic tool bag is under the seat. The last DMV sticker under the seat is dated "1975" and is in great condition. as the bike has always been garaged. New crankcase oil. All the lights - headlight. turns. brake and tail and meter lights work perfectly. Taillight lens looks like new. Carb is perfectly clean outside and inside. I have a few quarts of Yamalube I'll include. also please read (below) about my bike carrier. which you can take this bike home with!!!!WHO OWNED HER BEFORE ME? ANOTHER ADULT: When I got her. from a Harley guy in Rapid City. SD. he owned her for a long time and used her only during the Sturgis rallies for running around in the camp site. He told me he had not ridden her other than that. because it is too small for him. He was a big guy. He had her in his garage and needed the space. so I bought her for the same reason - to run around in the campsites while RV-ing. But I never even ended up doing that. HOW FAR FROM 'MINT' IS IT? Overall shape is very nice. but not 'mint'. I would not call her 'mint'. Here's the good: The chain and sprockets are good and without rust. The rims are true and perfectly shiny - no rust. The meter lights (turn signals. headlamp indicator and neutral indicator) all work as should. All the pegs and shift levers are nice. None are bent - not rusty. The only damage I see is very small spot down by the peg where the chain must have made contact at some time when it came off while someone was riding it. It is pretty small. I never even knew it was there until today. The front forks need the new dust boots (included) put on and probably new fork oil. I can't do that job. or else I would have already. All the cables slide fine - no sticky cables. The engine kickstarter seems to have a lot of compression 'kickback' - a very good thing. The bike has no operational flaws at all. It just starts right up every time and hauls butt. The idle is at about 1200 to 1300. I'm not a bike mechanic. but the carb looks great inside. Perfectly clean inside and out. The idle might be a little high. though. The wiring harness is complete and unmolested. The black R and L side covers are perfect. The blue oil tank paint has a small scratch which could be completely gone with a little paint chip fixer. Decal looks perfect. Please note that in the pics. she's a little dirty. I didn't wash her first. so some of the close ups make it look bad in places where it actually does not look bad. That is just some film. I haven't washed it since I bought it. I don't think it's been wet once since I've had it. WHAT DOES IT NEED? What you will want to do to make her up to your bar of perfection is up to you. but it is pretty close right now. I will tell you everything I know that I would do right here: She leaks a little case oil from the left side cover. I would put new seals on that side. Maybe get the original turn indicators. I am the one who added the aftermarket jobs. as the originals are very costly. usually. I would paint the tank and fix the small ding. put new graphics on the tank. and stitch the little stitching blowout on the seat seam. which won't show at all once is is stitched. No need for a new seatcover. The fenders are as perfect as you can ask for - no paint chips or gouges or scratches that I see. Very nice shape. I would put new brake pads on. They work fine. but it probably could use them. The swing arm has a wear area in the paint where the edge of the rear rider's shoes has rubbed there. Other than that. the frame paint looks pretty nice - no rusty areas. After riding it around the block once with the new tires. I noticed that there is some clutch drag. but only when wound out and flipping through the gears quickly. On normal acceleration and normal shifts. the clutch is fine. It never did that before. but in all the years I've owned it. I've only ridden it a few times. I read up on the clutch drag. and read that bikes that are not ridden much can do that. I would think it will disappear after it has been ridden some. Again. I noticed no drag on more conservative riding. All in all. this bike would require very little time or money to make it qualify as mint or 'showroom' condition. Even a detail might be all you find it needs. NOTE: When I am talking about rust. and I say "no rust". I mean the kind of rust that you normally find on pretty much every old bike i. e. a LOT of it on pretty much everything. This one has very. very little anywhere. But that does not mean you won't find a speck here. speck there. Remember. this is a vintage motorcycle. It is 41 years old!NOTE: I lost the original key way back and bought a replacement key switch with a key. So the keys no longer fit the tank lid. which is lockable. the forks lock. or the seat lock. You might want to have a locksmith key those so the keys (2 keys with bike) will fit all that. To open the tank. all you do is stick the very end of the key in to turn the lock and it pops open. I took the little part out of the lock so I could just open it without using a key. Again. you might just want a locksmith to get new cylinders so everything is keyed alike. That. and the aftermarket blinkers are the only non-original things about this bike. I have always had the tank empty while stored. with the carb bowl dry. The carb has brand new jets and gaskets. despite not really needing them. You might want to coat the tank. Up to you. With my injuries to my spine. my days of keeping this nice original Enduro are done. I had a 1974 DT 175 as my first bike when I was a boy. That is why I kept her all these years. I've never owned a better starting kickstarter bike than this one. HOW DOES SHE RUN? She starts first or second kick every single time and runs through the gears smoothly. She gets up on the pipe quickly and hauls butt - just like the ol DT175 has the rep for. I'm starting the listing out with a really low reserve. Personal showings in Phoenix area at my house are encouraged. but:No one is riding this bike until I sign the title to you. You can watch me ride it around the cul de sac if you want to see her shift. brake ect. I will answer all questions pretty promptly and will NOT respond to low ball. outside EBAY offers.
