All original, great shape, runs/shifts well vintage 1978 Yamaha XT 500 thumper

This is a fine example of a well kept original Yamaha XT500 with only 6272 original miles. The only new parts on this bike are the wear items such as front and rear tires and chain and sprockets. Engine oil has been changed every riding season. The numbers all match. All lights horn and turn signals work as intended and no electrical problems. Aluminum gas tank has no rust but it does have small dents and clear coat/decal damage on the right side. The left side of the gas tank is in great shape (see pictures). The rear shocks have some surface rust and some small rust areas on some of the bolts or nuts. Minor scratches are on the bike and should be expected on a model that is 37 years old that has not been restored. . The seat has a small area in which the foam is visible other than that the seat is in very good shape. This bike starts on first or second kick if you know and use the proper sequence and it runs and shift as intended. Engine is solid and does not smoke. if you know these bikes they are very strong and powerful. This bike can be ridden right now or a restoration would not take long since it is already in very good shape.I have a clear title in hand.
