1970 Yamaha DS6 - Twin Roadster - Rare Classic

1970 Yamaha DS6-B Twin Cylinder Two Stroke Roadster. This rare original has been restored and re-painted has only 6400miles and is inexcellent condition. HISTORY:Only 1200 of these impressive machines (B model) were imported to the US. I was told by an expert that this model also won the Daytona 200 some forty odd years ago.FEATURES:This model is truely old school - and was not manufactured with mirrors electric start or signal lights. Has the auto-lube oil injection system. Mixes the oil and gas automatically. Along with neutral and high beam indicator lights this bike has a 'C' Charge light on the Tachometer indicating to the rider that the battery is charged. Has a cool Steering Tensioner - that can be tightened or loosened to the riders steering preference! You will notice from the pictures that the kick-starter and crankcase are located on the left side of the bike. After this year the motorcycle industry standardized the kick start to always be on the right. It has the old style brake shoe system on both the front and rear wheels. Both brakes work very well. Both tires are newer and in very good condition. The bike fires up on the first kick. Because its very light and balanced it rides smoothly and is very maneuverable. Its quick and surprisingly powerful. NEEDS:It does need a carb tune-up and clutch adjustment. You can either have a pro mechanic make the adjustments or do it yourself using the detailed manuel - that will be included for the buyer in the purchase. STREET LEGAL and REGISTRATION:New York State began issuing titles for motorcycles in 1973 - bikes manufactured before this year were issued Transferrable Registrations. This bike has a current transferrable registration.
