XT500 XT 500 SR500 SR 500 TT500 TT 500 Yamaha Thumper Vintage

No reserve auction for the cult classic 1978 Yamaha XT500. If you're looking at this you're probably somewhat familiar but this is an off-road and on-road motorcycle. Similar to the SR500 (street version) and the TT 500 (dirt bike version). The XT got off to a great start in production with wins at Dakar (http://www.influx.co.uk/blog/yamaha-xt500/). This bike appears to have a modified stock exhaust. The previous owner removed the airbox. I re-jetted the carb and have it dialed in pretty well now. I have a pretty nice TT500 gas tank that comes with it not a professional paint job but looks pretty good. I bought it because I liked the TT500 tanks better. Recent work includes setting the valves new shift lever and shift shaft with associated seals I think I put a new chain on it last year carb cleaned rejetted and rebuilt new battery.This bike can be seen running here: ;It's not a show bike it's a runner.It's an old bike no guarantees expressed nor implied.
