No reserve auction for the cult classic SR500 big single 500! The SR is in Japan what Harley is to the US- really big custom scene for these. Basically been in production since the mid-70's they even sell SR400's to this day ( modern smaller engine 400cc to meet EPA requirements). This bike is a really cool example for several reasons. First let me start by saying it is not a show bike it has some scratches dings whatever. It has a custom exhaust made by a guy in South Jersey years ago. Renthal bars and what I think is the stock seat pan with an aftermarket seat cover A previous owner painted it black. There was a Japanese guy who owned it for a while and I think he was the one to paint the tank. It has no airbox but it has been rejetted. I rode it down to Virginia last summer. This year I've taken out to around PA and in the Water Gap etc.. This bike has some interesting work done to it. It was running XT500 points ignition. Somedifficultwork was be performed to do this. I have brought it back to CDI with a new CDI unit new rectifier/regulator and a new coil. However I left the points system intact so it can easily be used again (it's just a cool thing to be able to do they were electronic ignition stock). It has a new battery last year I replaced the sprockets wheel bearings tires and chain. My friend welded on some mounting points so the sissy bar is easily attachable/detachable it's an XS650 sissy bar. The thing on the front fork is aauxiliary tank and NOT included in the sale. Usually starts within 3 kicks. As I said it's not a show bike but a series of knowledgable and talented mechanics have owned it so there is a lot of cool touches. It's an old bike so there are no guarantees expressed nor implied and sales are final. Please feel free to ask questions schedule a time to view it etc.. If you want to test drive bring cash so I can hold it while you're away. Here is a video of it running:
